Does anyone know if the trial will be televised or streamed live online anywhere?
No cameras allowed in the court room, therefore, no live coverage. ( although I did see a few pictures taken before commencement) Only evening reporting. These first Two days at least are for jury selection

4/17/23 Monday, Jury Selection Day 1: Nealy 50 of the 153 potential jury members did not show. Originally, 300 Dale County citizens were summoned to possibly serve on the jury but on Thursday, the defense was informed that 147 potential jurors had been dismissed. Dale County Judge William Filmore questioned them on basic matters such as where they lived, what is their occupation, are they U.S. citizens, do any physical or mental ailments prevent them from serving on the jury, do they even want to serve, and more. This cut 27 potential jurors from the already short list. Then Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall & David Harrison, McCraney’s lead attorney too over questioning. During individual interviews, Judge Filmore dismissed the court and potential jury members early due to the air-conditioning being out in parts of the courthouse. Potential jurors were ordered to be back at the courthouse at 9am on Tuesday to finish interviews. It is expected a jury will be seated Tuesday afternoon.

Rickey Stokes News is posting occasional updates.

So far, it looks like the trial has not started this morning.

Stokes reported a juror did not show up this morning because they are at work, cutting grass in Opp, AL.

He is the only one so far that has posted any updates this morning. I wish they would let the media at least give live web updates.

Thank you so much. I'll start looking at RSN for updates. Unbelievable about the juror! Seriously?!

Other media outlets now reporting the same thing about the juror.

Deputies went to juror's job to bring him in for jury duty.

Here's an interesting update from WTVY:

11:45 a.m. 4/19/23

Harrison claimed McCraney was a 23-year-old "player" who got into the car with the victims, chatted with the girls, then had sex and returned home before 1 a.m. on Aug. 1, 1999, the day of the bodies were found.

As disgusting as that story is, they didn’t have anywhere else to go. They have to explain the dna.

Opening statements have started.

WDHN and WTVY posting updates:

Good to see you here. Thank you very much for the updates. Former WDHN reporter?
