I wonder where he could have gone, I hope he did not decide to hitchhike to somewhere.

One article I read said that on the day he vanished he had also lost his job.

The road leading into and out of his subdivision ends on US hwy 84. It is the main east/west artery through this region. He could be anywhere if he caught a ride.traffic is pretty heavy there, it is on the western edge of Dothan.

The District Attorney was at the press conference and says something to the effect that no matter what you have done we can work it out? This sounds like Ryles may have or be under the impression he has some legal issues. Hopefully he will turn up safe.

Living in the same area from where this guy went missing, I am praying for his family and loved ones. My grandfather went missing over 18 years ago from this area (Pansey). I know how hard it is to get people involved. Not to mention the police. His family has been working so hard to get his info out.

I live in Dothan. I have been waiting for more info to come out because there IS, as you've a said, so little. All that I'm aware of is that it seems he literally walked away, from his parents' home, I believe. (One of the most affluent neighborhoods in town, by the way.)

Most of the postings on the FB page seem to be pleading directly to him and asking him to come home. I have just wondered if there is maybe a mental illness issue here, or maybe he was suicidal. I'm basing that on what's NOT being said I guess you could say.

Tracey4AU, do you know if Ryles parent's have made contact with a super P.I. that lives right there in Dothan? She also has access to specialized missing person resources (if needed). I bet if Ryles parent's weren't aware of this P.I. (K. Johnston), they would be much appreciated to learn about her.

AshleySolomon, I also wrote this to Tracy4AU, but do you know if Ryles parent's have made contact with a super P.I. that lives right there in Dothan? I missed this. I've been wondering why he hasn't shown up here. This is local to me. I don't know him, but there isn't much info out there about what the family thinks happened. A local forum has a thread going with essentially the same as what has been posted here. I would post a link but you must be a member to read there.

Hi killarney rose, I also wrote to Tracey4AU and AshleySolomon as it appears that they are also fairly local to the area where Ryles disappeared. But I also wanted to connect with you with this same information (my apologies if you've read the other two posts with this info): Do you know if Ryles parent's have made contact with a super P.I. that lives right there in Dothan? She also has access to specialized missing person resources (if needed). I bet if Ryles parent's weren't aware of this P.I. (K. Johnston), they would be much appreciated to learn about her.

I do not know this family personally, but it is family running the FB page from what I understand. Could you possibly private message them on there with the info? That might be better in case they have questions.

I'm sure ANY suggestions would be appreciated !

Take a look at the link. Below I've copied what was said.

They posted this on the Facebook page.

"On December 18, 2013, our son, Ryles Chapman, ran out of our house barefooted dressed only in shorts yelling that someone was chasing him; he has not been seen since in a proven sighting. However, there have been numerous reports that he's in Dothan, AL. where we all live, but so far, there is no verifiable video or picture. The local police department, the Alabama Bureau of Investigation, and the FBI canine team have all been searching. We have had four organized ground searches, several press conferences, helicopter searches, and prayer vigils. Our FB page is findryleschapman which has over 8000 followers. Please, please help us find our son. He has two beautiful babies who want their daddy home. It's been our belief that he was still in the greater Dothan, AL. area; now we just don't know. Thank you for viewing this video; our second greatest hope right now is for this story to take center stage in the national media. Our first hope is obviously finding Ryles safe and sound. We are in southeast AL. only two hours from Panama City, FL. and four hours from Atlanta, GA. Ryles has two brothers, a sister, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and so many friends who miss him so much. Also, follow us on twitter @ #findryles. Every tweet, share, and view is appreciated! PLEASE HELP US!"

"Today is the 4 month anniversary of Ryles' disappearance and still no answers. Ryles if your able to read this please know your family loves & misses you tremendously. And we will never give up on finding you. God please keep our son safe."

It sounds like his family thinks that he is hiding somewhere. Has le ever said if Ryles was in trouble? This case just screams Jeremy Alex at me. So similar.

The Chapman family was getting ready for the holidays. "On the 17th which was a Tuesday, that night, he was decorating our house in Bocage with Christmas lights, " said Wes Chapman, Ryles's father...

"The 18th around 7 o'clock, my daughter and I pulled up and went back to check on him and he wouldn't answer the door at first, then when he answered the door, he came out of his bedroom running, he ran around the house and down the main street, Asphodel and Bocage. Of course I'm calling out his name. He thought someone was chasing him so we really didn't know what was going on till the investigation took place and then we found out that day, he lost his job. We don't know if that's part of it. He's the only one that has that piece to the puzzle to know whats going on in his life...

The last time anyone saw him that we are aware of was at the entrance of Bocage. One of our friends drove by and saw him there like he was waiting on somebody, " says Wes Chapman.

"It is still an active investigation. We will not stop until we find some evidence either way of where Ryles is. We will take any leads that anybody has and we will run them down," says Owens.

"We've had two very good leads in the past 2 weeks and that's what they are is leads, we have not seen him. At this point, a text from Ryles with a picture with today's newspaper as a background so we could see the date would be absolutely wonderful, we would know that he's OK. We will just never stop looking for him, we will find him, " says Wes Chapman.
