See previous news release.

If there is no "warrant of committal" that would suggest that he was a voluntary admission to the facility and left AMA. The wording of the initial missing information is confusing. If he should not be approached it suggests that he is a risk of harm to others, but if so he should have that warrant of committal issued. Definitely sounds like a bad situation.

Sounds more like he would be a risk to himself.

''FORM 9: ORDER FOR RETURN (ISSUED BY OFFICER IN CHARGE OFPSYCHIATRIC FACILITY, Section 28)•The person is subject to detention at a psychiatric facility but is absent without leave.•You may be authorized by the officer in charge to return the person to the psychiatric facility,or to the psychiatric facility nearest the place of apprehension.Authority of Order for Return: •If a patient is absent without leave, an Order For Return (Form 9) signed by the officer in charge of the facility is required.•An order for return provides authority for one month from the time the absence of the patient is known to the officer in charge''

I’ve also found the wording of the initial release confusing and the corrected release raises question as well. A form 9 and a warrant for committal are different from one another. The initial release stated ‘He is currently bound by a Form 9 "Order for Return"’ and further explained that ‘A Warrant of Committal is issued by the Ontario Review Board when a person is found Not Criminally Responsible in court. The Warrant of Committal "Disposition of Detention" commits the person to the custody of a provincial psychiatric hospital and subjects them to abide by certain conditions.’ The corrected release stated ‘ To clarify, Alphonse is not on a "Warrant of Committal" which are issued by the Ontario Review Board’
A form 9 may be in place, it’s know as an order to return, and signed by a Dr. at the hospital the person is missing from.
