On April 17, 2020 at around 8:35 PM, John David King was run down and killed in a hit and run accident on PA route 45, near Millheim, PA. He is survived by his parents, eight siblings and his fiance.

Police were looking for a white Honda pilot.

The driver, Christoper Hort, from State College, PA drove home, then contacted his lawyer. His lawyer contacted the district attorney on April 21, and told them his "client" thought he hit a deer.

As of today, no charges have been filed. Why? This is pure speculation by me. He has money and connections. He is Joe Paterno's son in law.

An innocent church going Amish man who was planning a family was killed and nobody seems to care that the person that killed him has had no charges filed against him.

State College population is 45,000.
Millheim, near where it happened is 885.

The reason he didn't stop is because he was under the influence. That's why he went home and called hi lawyer day or days later. In my opinion.

That opinion is shared.

In the movie Weeds, Nick Nolte's incarcerated character says something like "Justice has a blindfold, but when it comes to money -- she peeks."

JMHO YMMV LRR

Joe can't obviously. But he has access to the family money and lawyers.
Everyone has the ability to hire a lawyer. There is nothing nefarious about that. The case probably is slow due to the virus and the civil unrest going on now. The police know what they're doing. It sometimes takes a while to get the case together. He will be charged with something unless a Grand Jury doesn't agree.
MOO

Better to be charged with leaving the scene than a driving under the influence. Also gives some time for the alcohol to leave the body. Interesting that it was 4 days before authorities were notified .... the most advanced urine testing for alcohol can detect it for about 80 hours.
