WYNNE, Ark. — The Wynne Police Department is asking for the public's help in searching for missing 42-year-old Christy Lynn Rooks.

Rooks was reported missing on Jan. 17, 2020.

Police say she was seen driving a 2013 white Nissan Altima with a black front bumper that has recently been repaired.

Wynne police believe she is in danger due to the lack of communication with family and friends.

The investigation is multi-jurisdictional and the Arkansas State Police, Woodruff County Sheriff’s Department, Prairie County Sheriff’s Department, and Cross County Sheriff’s Department are assisting.

WREG asked Wynne police if they had interviewed the boyfriend or other witnesses, but so far, all they're saying is they're asking for help on social media as their investigators work with other law enforcement agencies across the state to find her.

Christy travels a lot but always keeps in touch.

Rooks is described as 5 foot 2 with blond hair and blue eyes. She weighs about 130 pounds.

Human remains found near Hazen as investigation into Christy Rooks case continues


Both federal and state authorities have discovered the remains of a body that may be those of a missing Cross County woman, according to the Arkansas State Police.

ASP said in a media release that the remains were discovered Saturday in a crude grave site, about nine miles north of Hazen.


Officials said state troopers, special agents and the FBI have been at the scene since Friday.

“Information tied to the disappearance of Christy Rooks, 42, of Wynne led law enforcement officers to farm property and a residence between Des Arc and Hazen, where the investigation and evidence recovery has been underway over the past two days,” ASP said.

The remains were found from a crude grave site about nine miles north of Hazen.

Forensics experts at the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory will attempt to identify the remains and determine a manner and cause of death.


Information tied to Rooks’ disappearance led law enforcement officers to farm property and a residence between Des Arc and Hazen where the investigation and evidence recovery has been underway over the past two days.

Rooks’ Nissan Altima was found by Highway Patrol troopers Friday in Cabot.

Rooks’ boyfriend, 47-year-old Earl Parks of Hazen is being questioned by police in connection to her disappearance. He has been taken into custody and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Rooks’ remains were recovered on January 25 and positively identified on Monday.

Rooks’ boyfriend, Earl Parks, was charged with capital murder, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and possession of a firearm.

Human remains later identified as Rooks, were recovered on Saturday after authorities obtained a search warrant of 752 acres of land outside of Hazen. State police interviewed Earl Parks,47, of Hazen and arrested him on abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence, possession of firearms by a certain person charges in addition to capital murder.
The release says Rooks’ car was found Friday at a nearby Wal-Mart.
