Sorry if I missed it, is there any information on her maternal ancestry/maternal DNA side?

The most recent news I'm aware of was the January 2019 paternal DNA match with the Wood family members (cousins) who were not previously aware of her existence.

(edited to correct spelling - it's "Wood" not Woods.)

Someone else clipped this from the newspaper, so I'm thinking the powers that be are aware of it. But I was wondering if this was one of the Woods' sons? Was he a reverend? If this is his him, he, a married man, took off with a 20 year old woman. If it is him, wouldn't the state troopers have her name in the report, if the report still exists?
Cause if it is him, and he's EDJD's father, I'm thinking this could be EDJD's mother. The timing is about right.

Sounds like an excellent candidate...The under-18-year-old mentioned could also be her mother.

If it is the same Clifton Wood, I would hope investigators would have dug deeper into who these women were. Someone in the family must remember this, even though it was decades ago.
Also, I didn't want to post any subsequent articles other than the original article I posted until I confirmed they are one and the same because the second charge was a bit more serious, and this is a family friendly site.
I didn't find an article about the verdict.

Well done, great sleuthing Alleykins!

On the left hand side is a yearbook photo of Edith Marie Blevins, sister of Estella May Blevins. On the right is, of course, El Dorado Jane Doe. Those two look so, so much alike. EDJD also resembles Ruth Darline Blevins, another sister of Estella. Unfortunately, there is no yearbook photo of Estella to make a comparison. Estella only completed 9th grade. There is definitely a resemblance between El Dorado Jane Doe and the Blevins sisters. I think that is where the maternal line is, but descendants of the Blevins are perhaps refusing to test their DNA???
Here is the post.
There's another sister that really resembles EDJD, Ancestry yearbook photo.

It sure does sound like you have the correct Reverend.

Sadly, I can't find a photo for the sister , EM Blevins who married AB Wood.

Wow!!! @Alleykins that is awesome

One possibility is that the recent newspaper articles about her relative found on GedCom misused the term "second cousin" when referring to the daughter of EDJD's first cousin. It's super common for people to call any cousin other than a first cousin a second cousin. We do it in my own family, but really, all descendants of your first cousin are still your first cousins, just once removed, twice removed, etc. If that was the case, Tina is indeed her plain old first cousin, and one of the brothers is the father.

Does anyone know who the genealogist working on EDJD's case is? It might get better results for you to just email him/her directly with what you have found. Again, amazing work!
