His family has started a Facebook page (Share Shannon's Story) to share this story and hopefully bring some truth to light to get this case resolved.

Circumstances of Disappearance
On 11-29-2021 Shannon Collins brother reported that he nor his family had seen or spoken with his brother since February of 2021. Investigators went to Shannon's home in Pottsville, AR and made contact with his wife who stated that Shannon had left on foot on 3-12-2021. She also stated that she and her son and daughter have been in phone contact with Shannon. To this date no other family member has had any contact with him.

Was it ever confirmed the three of them (wife, son, daughter) had been in contact with him?
Surely there’s phone records, emails, or something IF this is true.

It was confirmed they'd never been in contact with him through phone records. It was also confirmed that the wife purchased a cell phone and began texting as him to the grown children.

This entire story blows my mind! It’s so beyond obvious the wife has something to do with his disappearance! His kids (his son and stepdaughter that he raised/her husband) seem to likely be in on it as well, though I don’t know if they’re possibly being emotionally coerced into covering for their mother. Regardless, they’re all adults and should do the right thing.

I get that it’s hard to bring murder charges without a body/physical evidence, but what about the fact that his wife was continuing to cash those $4,000+/month pension checks for months after he was last heard from? And impersonating a missing person over text message? Those both seem illegal to me, so why isn’t she under arrest?

Even if Shannon somehow died suddenly of natural causes and the family was (hypothetically) scared of losing a major source of income, it’s illegal not to report the death/dispose of a body and then continue to defraud the U.S. military by cashing a deceased person’s pension.

MOO.

The wife and children said he was traveling, and they were in contact with him. Beckwith and her brother saw no reason to doubt the story for a time, but after they didn’t hear from him for several months, the brother, who lives out of state, contacted the Pope County Sheriff’s Office, which launched an investigation in November 2021.

An update on the case this week provided by the sheriff’s office said that Collins’ wife, son, and daughter spoke with investigators once.

“During the initial, and only, interview the wife participated in, she gave false and misleading statements to investigators,” the statement said. “Investigators attempted to obtain follow-up information from Shannon’s wife and children but were advised that they had obtained council and wished to speak to investigators no further. They have provided no information since to help further the investigation.”

The sheriff’s office said it had no leads that indicated Collins might be living elsewhere and that detectives “are looking at this case as a Missing Person with foul play involved.”

This speaks volumes IMO…

“We went back for follow-ups, and they weren’t talking to us,” Yarbrough said. “They said they wanted counsel, and even to this day, we welcome them to come down and talk to us.”

Lieutenant Jacob Yarbrough has been leading the investigation, but efforts to communicate with Collins' immediate family have been challenging. The family's Facebook page, "Share Shannon's Story," continues to raise awareness in hopes of finding leads that could help locate him.
