Candela Rodriguez was 11 years old. Found naked, dead in a trash can, she had been missing for 9 days in a case that gripped her nation.
Some speculate it had to do with drug trafficking or revenge, but the media has talked about almost nothing else for days. They even video-taped the moment her mother ID'd the body.

I haven't heard anything about this case on our news but it's a big deal in Latin America.

OMG she was so beautiful!! So full of life! In a trash can? Her life was worth so much more My son is 12. This is so very, very sad and sick. Whatever her "relatives" did had nothing to do with HER!! She may have been able to get herself out of that situation and actually made a difference! Hell is not hot enough for the people that hurt her.
RIP dear sweet Candela... you deserved so much more but the Lord had a plan for you. Tell Jesus I said hello and fly with the angels precious little girl

What does "washed out" mean, or how does that translate to an English phrase?

Forgive the indelicacy of this, but perhaps 'washed out' meant a vaginal wash (douche) after a sexual assault in an attempt to eliminate DNA evidence??

Police authorities were looking into several theories of her abduction that ranged from a human trafficking case to a revenge exacted on her father, currently in prison over a truck robbery.

I believe the term "washed out" is a bad translation of "washed" or "washed off". It probably means that her body was washed to hide evidence, before she was dumped.

I notice there have been several arrests, found in the first link provided by SurfieTX. I hope these are the right people.

The autopsy of 11-years-old Candela Rodriguez showed no signs of sexual violence. The forensics also informed Candela’s death was caused by “asphyxiation”

I had to look up slang terms "piratas del asfalto" and "la guita" but it appears that Candela's father was working as a mule for organized crime and stole some money then turned himself in to police believing that he would be safe from reprisal so the syndicate kidnapped his daughter on her way to a boy scout meeting and tried to extort the hiding place from the mother who didn't know so they killed her.

There was an audio recording of the extortion phone call and maybe even a trace but there was implication that multiple corrupt police chiefs hampered the investigation. Public outcry was so great in this case that finally the perpetrators were convicted. It looks like some member of the organization was convinced to testify in exchange for drastically reduced charges and the actual killers have been confirmed for life sentences.

For a beautiful little girl, apparently justice prevails even in Buenos Aires.
