A witness says Lin’s mother struggled to stay on her feet and was so overcome with grief that she struggled to express herself

Among the few people to have met Lin’s family are officials at Concordia University, where he was an engineering student.

The head of the school’s Chinese student association is among those who have met the family. He described the painful scene at the airport when they arrived Tuesday.

“It’s heartbreaking,” Yan Shi told The Canadian Press.

“Lin’s mother was very emotional. She was crying all the time. It’s really terrible just being there. We didn’t understand a word she was saying. She was crying a lot.

“She could barely walk. We had to help her.”

He said he was only able to make out a short, single phrase: “We come to take you home now.”

Lets all remember Jun Lin and his family as they go through this most difficult time.

Good morning everyone.... quick question before heading off to work. Has anyone ever commented on who is taking all of the picture of LM? Did he have a tripod that he used? There are so many pictures of him, and I just don't think he had that many real-life people in his life to take all of them. Just curious....

What a wonderful question Reannan! I think we've established that in the last 18 months we have found no evidence that there was a person in his life who would refer to him as a friend. In examining both the articles by Justin Ling of the publication Xtra and Magnotta's own postings, we can identify friendships/potential relationships he had up until circa 2005 but no one that was ever identified as a travel companion or photographed with him during his various travels.

It does seem bizarre that they are implying he made the videos on the run when one only needs a set of functioning eyes to determine that, compared to his mugshot, the physical features that one cannot alter in a couple day are notably different.

I'm sure they have all of that. They need time to investigate. Sadly, many have hindered their investigation by posting "troll" videos online and probably continue to do so which resulted in perhaps hundreds of calls locally and internationally.

I called them ONCE about one of the videos. Won't again after discovering the fake names and videos being used by people who were doing their own "investigation" and not letting LE do their job.

So unless I have a verifiable credible lead, I will not not be wasting their time. They have enough on their plates! Let them do their job.

I can't imagine anyone would be willing to out themselves to something like that, only to be forever associated with his sorry *advertiser censored**. Judging from his escort reviews, I bet any/all of them were sorry they ever got tangled up with him in the first place. What a colossal waste of money!

I haven't seen any MSN reports that he has been questioned by the German police. The hard questioning may come after he arrives back in Canada. It is my understanding from MSN that Germany had its own particularily evil situation happen right after Eric was arrested and they have been focusing on that. Yes, the spotlight sort of dimmed on Eric after he was arrested. All moo of course.

eleph : Does international law and the INTERPOL constitution allow for a police agency, that has captured a suspect for a fellow INTERPOL-member nation, to question that individual beyond confirming identity and general health & well-being?

The INTERPOL constitution states in Article II that it's role is to:

To ensure and promote the widest possible mutual assistance between all criminal police authorities within the limits of the laws existing in the different countries and in the spirit of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

So there seems to be a bit of gray area; what do you think?

While that sounds like the logical answer, and would be my first thought, but in reading various feedback related to his alleged escort work, he was not a good escort.

Not sure if anyone else realized this was going on but I have also been following it..on Wikipedia there is discussion to take away LMs wiki entry and only have his info under the entry of "the murder of Jin Lun". I know this may be a hard thing to have done as Wikipedia isn't at all about anyone's emotions... strictly the facts. There are people who support and oppose this and their comments can be read on that page. However, given the devastating circumstances of not only the victim...but the fact that having a Wiki page is essentially a victory for LM..I think this could be a most prudent way to show respect and support to the family and in one small aspect not let LM get what he always wanted.

In my line of work petitions do hold some weight. In a court of law an online petition may show holes..but the "impact" they have..the representation of "one voice" is strong. I have used them before and think they are worth it. I know this would be a long shot..but perhaps putting a little energy into something positive for the victim might be just what the Dr ordered for those of us who are getting stressed from the last week of all of this.

Seeing this guy mount his own defense would be pure comedy, I see nothing here but your average run of the mill idiot but maybe I am missing something, I definitely do NOT see a Bundy or Manson here, both guys who had very high IQs. This is no criminal mastermind it is a little child throwing a tantrum to get attention because nobody gave him any.

Well Bundy, Dahmer, Gacey etc....committed acts because they had a passion for it and they were smart enough to get away with it for quite a while. Magnotta did it strictly for the notoriety, he didn't have a passion for any of it, it was all strictly for the shock value.

The video itself shows that, a bunch of odd random acts thrown together, the sexual aspects are all fake and done just for show.

Having said that, if he was advertising the video before the murder did he already have a victim in mind? Or was it random from the standpoint of finding someone who would get together to party with him and who also had an apartment that could be used for a couple of days.

It would have to be a bit unsettling for any guys that had communicated with him about hook ups online, or came across him in clubs around that time.

Information on the Internet Adult Film Database shows Luka Rocco Magnotta performed in eight adult movies, including “Street Bait 996: Luka,” distributed by Str**tB**t.com.

Jeff Vanzetti, the owner and webmaster of the database site based in New Jersey, said the last of his movies may be the key.

“Back in 2003, (StreetBait) had an office in Vancouver,” he said. “It doesn’t mean they had a production studio there, or that he was ever in Vancouver.”

No one at StreetBait could be contacted for comment.

Bankruptcy documents filed by Magnotta in Ontario in 2007 say he owed a Metro Vancouver leasing company $10,000.

The company is listed as Travelers Leasing, based in Burnaby, B.C., a Vancouver suburb.

He owed $17,000 and had just $6,500 in assets. His job is listed as a server, and his monthly income was just $800.

Luka Rocco Meganotta extradition likely by end of June, German prosecutors say

“We hope that he can be extradited by the end of the month,” a spokesman for the Berlin public prosecutor’s office, Martin Steltner, told AFP following the arrest of Luka Rocco Magnotta in the German capital on Monday.

Steltner said the first official step in the extradition procedure should be taken later Thursday.
“Berlin prosecutors will submit the extradition request for Luka Rocco Magnotta to Berlin’s higher regional court, which is to examine whether it complies with the law,” he said.

If the court upholds the legality of the request, the public prosecutor would then submit it to the German government for a routine examination of whether the penalty the suspect would face in his home country could violate his human rights, Steltner said.

Germany does not extradite to countries that have the death penalty, which Canada does not.

The hair in the video is MUCH more bleached than the hair int he booking photo..it's possible he could have put a light brown dye on it but it would be more damaged having come from the stark white in the video..besides..make up or no makeup ..in the three videos he looks younger buy a bit...IMO

The 3 video's that the media are reporting to have been made whilst LM was on the run all imply someone is recording him. (PS As has been discussed we know these video's are old).

If you look closely at the 3 video's. The way the camera moves etc, I really don't think anyone is recording him, he is implying someone is recording him.

The only video I have seen where there it is 100% that someone is recording him is in the python/kitten vid. A video was released after the killing of the kitten took place which shows a person recording LM petting the python, the camera is then passed to LM and he records that person petting the python. This other person has never been identified.
