Based on the confidence the Aruba investigators have I am confident as well this appeal will be denied and he will have to stay in custody for the 60 days.
TS indicated they are considering a charge of insurance fraud per an earlier report, in addition to the types of homicide charges available.
He has also confirmed that GG took out a 1.5 million dollar insurance policy on RG and that he was the beneficiary.
The Change of Beneficiary Form was likely investigated by the FBI and revealed to be fraudulent. Forging RG's signature is the likely way it was fraud. RG knew GG's character well enough, based on reports, that she would have never signed such a form, IMO.
It is very difficult to forge another's signature without leaving clues that it is a fake. Further, this form reportedly requires a witness. That name is probably a fake name, which the FBI may have also been able to ascertain.
This is a lot of circumstantial evidence, body or not. The fact the judge "threw the book" at GG twice - first ordering him to remain 16 days, not the usual 8, then the 60 days which is the maximum - indicates that there is confidence in that judge as well.
Such confidence wouldn't likely come from the other things we know about this case.
There is enough evidence with these insurance elements, if indeed this is the scenario we have, to get a murder conviction, IMO. The disappointing part of this is that Dutch law doesn't have hefty sentences for murder. He could be out of prison in 5 years or so. Finding the body could improve the chances of getting a longer sentence. The fact this case is in the media and a threat to tourism also improves that as well, IMO. He could even get a life sentence, and that obviously is what I am hoping for.
The 60 days gives more time for the investigators to try to wear GG down into a confession, and for the body to be discovered. No judge would overturn this if the above elements are present, especially after the JVS case.
MOO.
