That's all I have to say on the subject. Enough is enough.

How can you state that DNA did not belong to HA or Bittrolff ???

Here is information that LE do NOT have DNA in the AC4 case !!!

No DNA in Atlantic City Prostitute murders, Black Horse Strangler case

November 18, 2009

Quote:

It's been three years since four Atlantic City prostitutes were found murdered and posed in a drainage ditch in the West Atlantic City section of Egg Harbor Township. Law enforcement agencies are still committed to finding their killer. A lack of DNA on the bodies will make their task harder but not impossible.

Quote:

"The water washed away any DNA that might have been there," said one investigator familiar with the case.
Do we have a source other than the Examiner? Examiner isn't MSM, and generally is not allowed as a source on WS.

TIA!

Do we think they have DNA in the Atlantic city cases? I haven't heard if they do or not. You'll remember they had a person in custody at one point calling him a suspect, but let him go after he gave DNA. He was the guy that supposedly had video of his step daughter although that is in serious question. My question is would they not have compared HA's also? How do we get by this when we are still trying to zero in on HA seven years later?

With four dead bodies, I would be shocked to learn there is no usable DNA evidence. But that's just my opinion. Something to keep in mind, though: what would not have been a viable sample 6-7 years ago, might be usable today.

Some will find this article long and dull, but it's definitely worth the effort.

Recent Advances in Forensic DNA Analysis
Jennifer M Romeika and Fei Yan*
Department of Chemistry, North Carolina Central University, USA

Abstract
Forensic DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) analysis or DNA profiling has played a major role in the criminal justice system. New techniques and technologies for DNA profiling continue to evolve every year. This paper reviews the literature reported during January 2011 through June 2013 in the field of forensic DNA analysis. Recent advances in almost all aspects of DNA analysis – which include sample collection, storage, and pretreatment, DNA extraction, DNA quantitation, quality assurance of DNA testing, and DNA databases are discussed. New developments now enable new kinds of forensically relevant information to be extracted from limited quantities of biological samples, and offer unprecedented potential for high-throughput DNA analysis.

Advances In DNA Fingerprinting

One of the major advances in DNA fingerprinting involves the amount of DNA needed to perform the test. In order to accurately analyze DNA, a large sample was needed in the past. Due to the advances in technology, a small sample of DNA can easily be amplified and copied using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). This process requires only a very small sample of DNA evidence, and it can be copied millions of times and used for multiple fingerprinting tests. Also, where the DNA comes from is not as limited as it used to be. Researchers are now able to extract DNA from sources that were considered too hard or contaminated.

Do we have a source other than the Examiner? Examiner isn't MSM, and generally is not allowed as a source on WS.

TIA!

Only the Feb 2008 comments by, Retired Egg Harbor Township Police Captain John DeAngelis, and the FBI source, both from the 48 hour transcript:

http://tv.ark.com/transcript/48_hour...1_2010/516748/

...an FBI source tells 48 Hours that the scene at the ditch was contaminated by some of the first responders, limiting the amount of forensic evidence that could be retrieved.

Here is info that John DeAngelis was a captain on the force at the time of the AC4 murder ocured:

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/beyond-the-boardwalk/

As correspondent Harold Dow reports, police in the Atlantic City suburb of Egg Harbor Township were alerted on Nov. 20, 2006, to a grisly discovery: spaced out along the drainage ditch were four dead women.

At the time, John DeAngelis was a captain on the force.

And as I posted yesterday:

One thing that point to that they do NOT have DNA is the FACT that police refused to clear the one time suspect Terry Olesen after he gave a DNA sample, I mean IF they had DNA and it was a match he would have been prosecuted, and if the DNA did NOT match why not clear the man ???

I'm sorry and I really don't mean to be rude, but the accusations and sleuthing of HA, when he has not been named a suspect by ANYONE, has gotten ridiculous. Furthermore, it continues to muddy the threads and pages because certain people won't let it go and stall any other avenue of discussion. To my knowledge, in no way has HA been named a suspect by anyone at anytime, yet we continue to treat on him here as if he confessed to the crimes. Maybe he is responsible for the AC4, maybe he's not, but to continue to pry into this when he is not a formal suspect or POI, has gotten completely out of hand and in my opinion, has severely hindered the progress of this thread. I know it is tough to let go of a POI when you have such a strong opinion of it, but enough is enough. Do it on your own time and if you find concrete evidence, take it to LE. And until he's a suspect or POI officially, can we please stop bringing his name into every discussion. Because the truth is, whatever kind of guy he is, if he is innocent, this case destroyed his life and we certainly didn't help.

Rant over

What I find particularly interesting is the idea that the AC victims may not have been positioned with their heads facing east. One LEO commented that the ditch they were found in often flooded with water and that that water flowed east.

Oleson was never cleared as a suspect because he was never officially declared as a suspect, I read that somewhere but cant find it now. Another reason they haven't cleared him could be so they can somewhat save face. I think some were convinced he was the guy.

Here's a quote about the DNA from the prosecutor but it doesn't tells us much,

Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel told The Associated Press last year that DNA evidence can degrade to the point of being unusable after being in the water for a prolonged period. The victims had all been in the water for several days or more before being discovered.

http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2009/11/salem_county_man_questioned_in.html

I think they might have some DNA but maybe not enough for a full profile.

Wasn't Oleson the maintenance man at the Golden Key? He atleast knows or saw something. Who was staying in room 101 which is said to be the crime scene?

"It's at the Golden Key - and specifically Room 101, which is hidden from a front view of the seedy motel located in the West Atlantic City section of Egg Harbor Township - that police have apparently focused their investigation into the grisly deaths.

A manager at the Golden Key Motel yesterday refused to rent out or allow a reporter access to Room 101 in the pink and green woodframe and cinderblock motel.

On several occasions, investigators have been observed going in and out of the room wearing blue rubber gloves as they carry out boxes and paper bags, presumably containing evidence. Yesterday they took to the roof of the motel, searching for clues.

The manager, who refused to give his name, denied that he had been told by police to keep the room off-limits. He claimed that the room was undergoing renovations, but in the same sentence indicated that there was nothing wrong with the room.

From a rear door of the room, it is 10 paces through a jungle of scraggly weeds and trees to a one-lane muddy service road running along the ditch where the bodies were found."

also: "Prostitutes say officers have been showing them a cell-phone picture of a man they'd like to talk to in the case, but that has not been confirmed by authorities.

The picture may have been taken by a prostitute."

This is the craziest thing to me because it says the bodies were not all dumped at the same time!

"Atlantic County Medical Examiner Hydow Park determined that Raffo died from ligature strangulation, meaning that a rope or cord had been tied around her neck and she was suffocated. Her body had been in the water up to a week, what appeared to be the shortest amount of time.

Roberts, who had been in the water for upwards of two weeks, apparently died from asphyxia. Because of decomposition of the body, Park could not be more specific as to how she died.

The bodies of Breidor and Dilts, who each had been in the water between two weeks and a month, were so badly decomposed that Park could not positively say how they had died. All four of the deaths are being investigated as homicides, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office."

Can anyone help me...I've been trying to find a post (Coming up empty on advanced search) it was a post by someone on this thread or possibly the other AC thread...where a woman had told police she had seen a man drive up and down the same road as the motel in a grey van for a few weeks early in the morning around 3am and that he kept leering at her making her feel very uncomfortable.....

a cocktail waitress said she was afraid the killings were related to a recent incident in which she was approached by a man driving a gray Plymouth van. Ms. Hamlett, who leaves for work around 3 a.m., said she noticed the man in the van driving up and down the Black Horse Pike for weeks. She said he often stopped to leer at women, including her:

If that's the comment it came from here,

Here's another article that talks about a van also,

another prostitute, recalled that she talked to the police two weeks ago about a man who picked her up one evening on Pacific Avenue in a gray van, the type of vehicle that some here think may have been involved in the killings.

“The guy seemed really uptight and kept telling me to ‘Shut up, *advertiser censored*,’ ” said Ms. Taylor, 26. “I had a really bad vibe, so when we stopped at a traffic light, I just jumped out.”

"Atlantic County Police have launched an investigation into the discovery of a woman's body stuffed in a suitcase in Egg Harbor Township. The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Tara Rogers Alicea"

http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?section=news/local&id=9385156

"Investigators also are looking at the possibility of the killing being linked to the unsolved 2006 homicides of four women found in the marsh off the Black Horse Pike in the township’s West Atlantic City section.

“It’s something we’re exploring,” McClain said. “We’d be foolish not to. But we’re exploring this possibility. At present time it remains just a possibility.”"

Update: Suspect arrested in this case.

A joint investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, Major Crimes Unit, Egg Harbor Township police and the FBI, with the assistance of the Pleasantville police, resulted in the arrest Tuesday of Steven Stallworth, 27, of the 600 block of Noah's Landing in Pleasantville, said authorities.

He was charged with murder and desecration of human remains and was lodged in jail in default of $2 million full-cash bail, authorities said.

Wow the FBI investigating at TWO locations in Pleasantvillea fter arresting this guy...Pleasantville is home of the Golden Key btw

While I'd love for this person to be the guy so that these families can get justice, I can't help but notice that he would have only been around 19 years old at the time of the 2006 murders. Yes, a person who is 19 is certainly capable of murder, but the AC 4 seem to have been killed by someone who was patient enough to stage the bodies. It just doesn't seem like a typical activity for a teenager. MOO.
