Hi Bo, I am so relieved to see you're post this afternoon and the lie of automatism is no longer!

Thinking of Adeline and her dear Amber and Korey and also they're family who have to endure this hell.

Still thinking of himself and a possible discount on his sentence. I hope the judge throws the book at him.

Those poor loves x

SA triple murder: a grandmother's grief

The "vision" of how her beloved young grandchildren were murdered - strangled with cable ties -haunts Janet Wells, something she "can never stop thinking about".

"I loved our babies more than life itself and knowing how they died kills me," she told the South Australian Supreme Court in a victim impact statement on Friday.

"It's a vision I can never stop thinking about."

It came after Steven Graham Peet earlier pleaded guilty to the murders of Adeline Yvette Wilson-Rigney, and grandchildren Amber, 6, and Korey, 5.

Peet strangled Ms Wilson-Rigney and her children with cable ties before trying to conceal their bodies at a property north of Adelaide in May 2016.

Ms Wells joined the maternal grandmother of the children Donna Rigney in describing the "overwhelming grief" they have lived with since the tragedy.

"The pain that you have brought upon me and my family has caused overwhelming grief every day," Ms Rigney said.

She told the court the day of the triple murder was the most painful of her life, and her "whole world was turned upside down" by the tragedy.

The bodies of Ms Wilson-Rigney and the children were all found with cable ties around their necks and hidden under clothes and bedding and, in the case of the boy, under a child's play tent.

The young girl had adhesive tape wrapped around her head and a sock had been stuffed in her mouth.

Her arms had been tied behind her back.

The young boy had parts of his body wrapped in tape and his hands and feet were secured behind his back in a hog-tied fashion.

Ms Wilson-Rigney had also suffered severe head injuries consistent with being struck with the claw-end of a crowbar or a hammer.

Her body was found in the laundry but evidence suggested she was attacked in another room and dragged there.

Ms Wells, the paternal grandmother of the children, said she was moved to provide a statement due to the effect the killings has had on her husband.

The court heard statements detailing the consequences of the crime on several other relatives from both sides of the family.

In sentencing submissions, defence counsel Bill Boucaut said Peet will feel "shame and regret" for the rest of his life.

"He genuinely held Yvette Rigney in affection and he loved her children."

Prosecutor Tim Preston said Peet killed Ms Wilson-Rigney in anger and her children because they witnessed their mother's murder.

He urged Justice Malcolm Blue not to accept in any form Peet's earlier claim of disassociation during the murder of Amber and Korey.

"It's hard to envisage a crime of greater objective seriousness," he said.

Peet was remanded in custody with the case adjourned to next Wednesday.

There’s something to be said for ‘An Eye for an Eye.’ Let him see only visions of those children’s last moments, like their Grandmother does for the rest of his life.

Your'e welcome Bo. This case hurts my heart - the dear children.

Mine too. At least there wasn’t much ‘political’ debate involved and they were afforded some dignity.

This must be excruciating for Adeline and her children's family. Especially tonight I'm thinking of Amber and Korey's father who as stated by his father 'is now a shell of the man he once was'.

Justice Blue is considering releasing to the public evidence and Peet's psychological reports. I hope he doesn't for Adeline's dignity and the family's sake.

It’s almost over. They are strong people. When justice is done, then they will rest.

Finally, today has been such a long time coming. I hope that Adeline's and her two precious children's loved ones suffering can ease just a bit now.

And he can just rot.

Never to be released would be more appropriate.

Hell, how does SC BB come to this? - his client's genuine remorse and sorrow? Well what about the three victim's and their loved ones lifetime sentence of hell? I don't want to hear about Peat's remorse and sorrow, its insulting and makes me sick!

FFS, Peat murdered Amber and Korey's mummy, then in the morning feeds her two children breakfast, puts them in front of tv to bide time to figure a cover plan - well, Families SA are coming to visit after all. A ciggie while he works out his solution to what he's done - then comes up with the plan to murder Adeline's Amber and Korey. These little children had to endure such shocking suffering, I just find that unbearable. And after that horror, Peat continues on with his attempts of coverup and deception.

Yes Bo, never to be released!

Murder of two children by mum's partner preventable, coroner rules

The deaths of two children murdered by their mother's partner could have been prevented if child protection had intervened, an inquest has found.
Adeline Wilson-Rigney, her six-year-old daughter Amber Rose and five-year-old son Korey Lee Mitchell were found dead on a property at Hillier, north of Adelaide, in May 2016.

In 2017, Ms Wilson-Rigney's partner Steven Peet was jailed for life over the triple murder.
The children's grandfather, Steven Egberts, said he wants to ensure no other family endures what they have.
"We'd call on the current premier to make the necessary changes and hopefully save some children," he told 9News.

Deputy State Coroner Anthony Schapel released his findings into the death of the two children, saying the Department of Child Protection was aware of concerns about them living with their mother.
However it didn't investigate because of resourcing and staffing pressures in its Elizabeth office.

The Deputy Coroner also said successive governments have failed to implement all of the recommendations of previous inquests into the child protection system.
