Police find items to be forensically tested at missing mum's former Blue Mountains home
Detective Chief Inspector Grant Taylor of the Homicide Squad said police were hopeful of finding forensic evidence.
"If it's not the remains of Belinda, other pieces of forensic evidence that we did not have the technology to [find] back 20 years ago," he said.
Hopefully it’s not just Belinda’s clothes police find. I’m hoping they find Belinda, or at least a clue to her whereabouts, so her family can lay her to rest.
“Yesterday’s find is of great interest to Strike Force Belonidae investigators – the undergarments are consistent with Belinda’s clothing size,” Det Ch Insp Taylor said.
“We will await the results of the forensic analysis, which includes DNA testing, to determine whether new lines of inquiry can be explored.
“While we remain focused on the excavation under the house, we are renewing our appeal to the community for information that may assist our investigation,” Det Ch Insp Taylor said.
