In that 1st interview it reminds me of Ronald Cummings, Haleigh's dad.

I found the Mothers comment in the following News article http://www.news.com.au/national/queensland/chloe-campbell-3-abducted-from-home-at-childers-near-bundaberg/story-fnii5v6w-1226879595138``Maybe someone took her who can’t have kids or something like that.’’ to be a bit weird at the time it was said. It stood out to me and made me question if she knew something... I am not sure if we are allowed to say too much on our thoughts on how involved the parents are.
But this new revelation about The father being seen on the street 20 minutes before Chloe went missing and the footage of her with the 2 men, and the drug debt and the Mothers comments... I wonder, its far fetched probably to even think it and not sure its ok to suggest here the thought that crossed my mind, as it would implicate the parents/father more than it being a warning/payback/threat.. WHo knows, I guess it will all come out in the end. I am so glad this did not have a different ending, but I worry for the children if the lifestyle choices of her parents do not change from what they seem to have been until this point. I can only hope this whole ordeal has been a major wakeup call...

BBM.

Unbelievable!

Also from the same link.

So it would seem that Garth was outside on the street 20 minutes before Chloe went missing! Man this just gets more and more bizarre. Did he in fact take Chloe somewhere and was inadvertently caught on cctv? That just doesn't make sense!

This photo of the front of the house also gives a better perspective of the distance between the car and the side of the house.

:waitasec:

Would love to know what LE is thinking.

Especially since Chloe didn't actually tell LE that dad's friends had her, she reportedly only said that once she was home with her family.

Wonder if LE is concerned/thinking there's any possibility that could be a 'cover story' to pass the blame?

A horrible thought but was Garth so scared of the threats he'd received that, in a drunken stupor, he took Chloe somewhere to hide her or even more sinister, gave her to the people who threatened him. A case of "Here, take Chloe. Look after her and I promise I'll have the money to you by......"

Yes, I know it sounds ridiculous but so is this whole mess. :banghead:

I do feel that the threats Garth received had to do with one or more of his children being harmed. IMO, that would be the only reason he would report the threats to police. I don't think he would have gone to the police if the threats were aimed at him personally.

I can't see any smashed windows in that photo - is that pic from the Courier Mail? The Courier Mail seems to be posting a lot of contradictory information, and contributing to the public slamming of this family, and the town of Childers it seems.

FWIW I haven't ever stayed in Childers, but I have passed through the town often on weekend soccer runs with my kids. I see things that I would love to stop and look at, but of course am always in a rush to get to training or games on time, and then too pooped or just too late to stop on the way home. But my impression is that it's a rather cute little country town. It's a break in highway travel as you have to slow right down to pass through its historical wide main street. Its in the middle of a big farming area - lots of sugar cane especially. Here is some info that might change the view of it being a drug addled town full of unemployed crims:

Childers
Childers is the southernmost township of Central Queensland and only a short three and a half hour car journey from Brisbane. This historical town is positioned on a ridge with magnificent views overlooking thousands of hectares of vivid green sugarcane and avocado farms. Visitors can step back in history as they visit the town's many historical buildings - some dating back to Queensland's early pioneering days. As the centre of the thriving Isis Shire, Childers offers a relaxed and welcoming country atmosphere.

Nearby Woodgate Beach and National Park offers an unspoilt coastal playground for visitors seeking peace and quiet.

ETA thanks MTBiker - glad I'm not the only one who has actually seen the town and thought what a lovely little place it seems to be.

Good point about scrambling the money together TravelingBug. <modsnip>.

True!

<modsnip>

This is probably equally improbable, but I wonder (if dad actually told LE earlier on what he suspected) if there's any scenarios in which LE would give money to get a child back (with a handoff of the money for a victim) while watching the handoff so they knew who it was going to to then arrest them?

Probably only a storyline on TV shows, huh? LOL. :blushing:

Just seems like there is SO much more to all of this that maybe there's a shot they'd have done it to get Chloe and get the drug guys (and maybe purposely not arrest them yet) to maybe even get a larger part of the drug ring?

Can you get in trouble for kidnapping your own child, if you have rightful custody of them?

No, not if you have custody. Giving a false statement to police on the other hand is an offence.

I was wondering if for whatever reason ( chloe couldnt sleep, dad felt like fresh air, etc ) dad and chloe are out for a stroll and the ' perps' saw him and actually snatched her right from his arms on the street? Near the CCTV sighting? ** speculative**

You know, it's interesting that it was Chloe they 'took' (or whatever this is going to turn into)

Why her not one of the older two? (Unless it was also a lie that they were all sleeping in the same room, which at this point may well be the case)

Simply because they figured she'd be less apt to talk or be able to rat out whoever it was?

Or...?

Heck, for that matter, if they were all sleeping out there why not ALL of them?

The Courier mail can confirm GC was seen on the street 20mins before she went missing? How do they know this? Anonymous tip? Or have the police confirmed this?

Hmmm ... I think more likely to blame the debt holder and have him put away, or scare him into laying off them .... to show him he could be set up.

They've all been pushing the line that it was someone who knew Garth, knew Chloe, knew where she slept, since day one. Why do that? They wanted the blame to be pointed at someone in particular imo. If Chloe was abducted, the perp could have been anyone. The debt holder is apparently a 'close family friend', according to MS.

Well I'd be careful who I befriended in the future, eh? If you have close friends who are capable of stealing your own babies for ANY reason on earth, then you should check your radar and watch who you let around.

Yes ... if a close family friend and debt holder stole Chloe.

Not meaning to offend anyone here. Just expressing a different opinion, and food for thought. Seems MSM are thinking along different lines too.

And maybe the police ...

He said Chloe’s secrets had led police to pursue a particular line of inquiry, but detectives were keeping an open mind and pursuing several leads.
But Insp McNab said Chloe had not referred to “daddy’s friends” when questioned by specialist police investigators who have spoken to her several times.

While I've always believed Tammy was shocked to have Chloe taken, I thought her comment "You were gutsy enough to take her, now have the decency and guts to bring her home’’ was odd.
I would never goad my child's kidnappers by suggesting they might lack 'guts' by not returning Chloe. Not worth the risk of triggering a violent response from people that obviously do not have much of a conscience.
Having said that I believe both parents were elated to have Chloe back. I don't believe they were directly involved in her removal from the house. I do hope they make a fresh start with good health and leave the seedy stuff behind, now.

True I agree that when she said that I was surprised. I think many mums from kidnapped kids would love to say that but most of them would not.

Oh and what do they mean by this...
............

The Courier-Mail can reveal Mr Campbell was seen on a street near his house the night Chloe disappeared, about 20 minutes before his daughter went missing.

It was also about 20 minutes before security footage shows two men and a child passing along the railway line behind Pioneer Park, only a few hundred metres from Chloe’s house on the same morning she vanished.
........................................
It was also 20 minutes before what? I do not know this paper the adelaide mail but I find them very big on suggestions.
