It shows the mower being hauled away and images of Frances with friends. It's not newly posted but this is the first I've seen it.
 
Is there a reason the police have to use this weird 'copspeak'? Why can't they just say 'man'? Why is it always 'a male person'? Do they think we don't know what 'man' means?
What next 'a human person' so we don't offend the non binary lot?
"Male" or "male person" is used on record to reduce typos. It's easy for a reporter at a crowded press conference to mishear a mumbled "a man" as "woman," for example, which can change the whole story. Plus it conceals the age of the person concerned (as opposed to "man" vs. "boy") while still informing the reporter which pronouns/terms should be used.
