There's always a reason why info is withheld. ACA are always the cheekiest!

So from what i understand from the interview. A witness saw a car like karens and a lone male parked facing the wrong way with the make standing near the car. No confirmation on exactly when this sighting except that it was last week of june and no confirmation on where the witness was exactly located (ie driving past or somewhere else). Then the witness reported the sighting before KRs body was found, but it wasn't followed up/confirmed until this past week. Does that sound right?

Oh and police won't confirm if the male can be identified or not... i wonder if the car was reported for a different reason. Eg a resident on the road saying there's a person parked in front of their house and theyre worried. Maybe that could explain the delay in the police connecting to this witness

That is how I understood it.

Tim Day did not give much away about the diggers rest cctv appeal.

Notes:
- Missing Person Squad Detectives, Search and Rescue, SES are conducting some line searches this morning. Looking along the roots along Mt. Macedon Road, Waterfall Road, Childers Road, Salisbury Road. Through into Loch Road, to the area at which the body was located.
- Reason for search. Spoken to witness who noticed that black merc.
- Witness saw the vehicle around this location.
- Witness sighted this location prior to the body being located.
- They will be here around 13 July 2017 morning conducting search.
- Narrowing down what day it was, and whether it was on the day Karen went missing.
- The car was facing the wrong way. Facing Mt Macedon Road?
- Only last week identified the witness. (Report was made months ago? - Reporter) Witness articulated sighting in the last week of June - Tim Day.
- Speculation being related to Karen's disappearance.
- Not looking for anything in particular for today's search.
- Last time did witness appeal; Diggers Rest Railway Station had quite a few calls in relation to black merc and similar vehicles.
- Investigators continue to eliminated less than 20 black mercs.
- Tim Day confident to solve this case.
- Making another appeal if you see anything suspicious to contact crime stoppers.
- Searches will be here to early to mid afternoon.

Thanks, TAPPEDIN, for the Great Summary. All in one POST.

I don't think the witness told police until this week. I think they have "articulated" it to someone in their life, hopefully via a text message at least!

Tim Day quoted, it was articulated in the last week of June, and they only have just identified the witness in the last week. It could defiantly be interpreted that way or another.

Personally I was hoping for a little more then that today.... but if Tim Day is confident its going to be solved - then hopefully the police are just giving out snippits to keep it all fresh.....

Yes - he wanted to convey it was highly credible, that someone hadn't just seen the media push and made something up, but obviously he doesn't want to make it look like it is something they sat on. I guess it could be covering the bums of the previous investigators. "Articulated" is a peculiar choice, he is avoiding the word reported because that conveys reported to the police. Hopefully it is more than a convo people are remembering, even though that gives it some credence, hopefully there is evidence like at least a phone call made like "hey love, there's a strange guy on childers, see if he's there when you come home".

It would be amazing if they found her bag and phone today.

Hmmm...Interesting that the Detectives were back at the Avondale Heights home this morning!

I"m hoping that this is not just another drip-feed...
We need some real ACTION now!

I wonder if daughter has returned from holidays yet?

I'm still feeling that Borce acted alone and Karen was killed in the home...and VR helped with disposal of body in his old stomping ground with which he is very familiar...MOO

A lone male next to the car.
Was there another car in front behind or across the road from that car the lone man was standing next to?

The reporter did ask was Sarah co-operating. TD: I won't run a commentary on the investigation.
I guess she can't have been co-operating much while on her getaway.

Searches are underway on a number of roads in the Mount Macedon area that detectives believe may have been taken to get to the location where her body was dumped.
....
The search comes after a possible breakthrough in the investigation, with a number of people reporting they saw Ms Ristevski’s black Mercedes-Benz in the vicinity of Childers Road and Mount Macedon Road at about midday on the day she went missing.
Another witness said he saw a lone male near the car prior to the discovery of Karen’s body, which was eventually found just 1.5km away from where the sighting was made.

I'm sticking with BR acting alone, and brother helping with the cover up stories and maybe, disposal of Karen's handbag, phone etc. What a family!!
The police are closing in on BR, woohoo! I wonder if he's working for the council?
