I wonder if Chris and his mother were to testify at Kristi Abrahams trial ?

Kiesha was buried close to her brother.

I doubt it, from what I understood he was not in contact with them for a long time? Are they legally able to offer as evidence of much earlier abuse? I feel not, so unless he was going to offer a victim impact statement for sentencing, I don't think it will have much bearing.

RIP Chris .. Thoughts go to his long suffering mother and all friends and relatives.

The crown alleges she died on the evening of July 13, 2010 and that on July 18, Smith and his co-accused took the suitcase containing the body to the burial site.
"The body remained in the house for five days," Mr Alder said.
"... He placed the suitcase in a bedroom for five days later."
At the burial site, he had "doused the deceased's body in petrol and then set the deceased's body alight".
The court heard Kiesha's exact cause of death has never been determined, but she had suffered from a "history of physical abuse".

I am in tears. This poor angel deserved so much more in life than she got. I hope they both spend many hard years in jail.

Court told Kiesha's stepfather burned and buried her body
The stepfather of six-year-old Kiesha Weippeart failed to call an ambulance while she lay unconscious from a blow to the head, and later burned and buried her body in a bid to hide her death, a court has heard.

Kiesha stepdad 'burnt and buried her body'
But when the little girl was killed at home, Robert Smith burnt her body and buried it in a shallow bushland grave before pretending she had disappeared.
Smith, 33, had "ample opportunity" to seek medical help for six-year-old Kiesha, who was knocked unconscious by another person at her Mt Druitt home in July 2010, the Supreme Court in Sydney heard on Friday.

She should never have had those children with her - she was well known to DOCS the state has a lot to answer for in this case. I hope there's an inquiry that follows the convictions.

Buying toys was a trick to hide little Kiesha Weippeart's death
TO anyone who noticed the items on the shop counter, the Tinkerbell poster and toys would have looked like gifts for a little girl waiting at home.
But these were not presents bought out of love for Kiesha Weippeart. Instead, a court heard yesterday, they were a sham purchase to cover up the fact she was dead.

Kiesha's stepfather faces sentencing
A Sydney court has heard that the stepfather of Kiesha Weippeart buried the child's body and covered up her death out of fear.
Robert Smith has pleaded guilty to manslaughter and accessory after the fact in relation to Kiesha's death at the age of six.
During sentencing submissions in the New South Wales Supreme Court, Smith stared straight ahead in the dock as the prosecutor listed the actions he took to cover up the girl's death.

"I must have the worst luck and I was like, I didn't do anything but I'm there, I'm in the picture, I'm part of it," Mr Smith later told an undercover police officer.

I would consider Kiesha's luck considerably worse ... I think one of the worst human traits is this kind of sympathy for yourself and not others.

...are they still saying her 'funeral' was done in accordance with Aboriginal Tribal Law? Ridiculous.

Kiesha's mum pleads not guilty to murder
The mother of slain six-year-old Sydney girl Kiesha Weippeart has pleaded not guilty to her murder.
Kristi Anne Abrahams, 29, from Mt Druitt, sat perched on the edge of a chair in the dock during a brief arraignment in the NSW Supreme Court on Friday.
Dressed in a grey and navy striped jumper, with her dark hair pulled back in a low bun, Ms Abrahams simply said, "Not guilty," when Justice Megan Latham asked her to enter a plea on her murder charge.

Hard to believe she is denying it, the partner has implicated her but I cannot believe he would say it was her if it wasn't as his sentence will be as long as hers anyway.
