So good to hear Hedley back talking about Lynette and reminding us of the beautiful woman and mother she was. Such a tragic loss for her children and family. Her nephew David Jenkins, one of only 3 members of the public to attend court on Day 1

Just jumping off your post ...... as the podcast goes on, in future weeks, we are apparently going to hear week-by-week about the trial proceedings, as heard by David Murray and Matthew Condon - the Australian states they are experienced crime reporters who will attend every day of the trial.

The Australian says that Hedley will provide background and context in the podcasts.

I thought I would post this before Dawson’s trial gets underway. This case has similarities to Geoffrey Adams killing his wife Colleen in 1973 in South Australia. Colleen was the mother of two daughters. Adams claimed she walked out, that she had post natal depression, psychiatric conditions and was mentally unstable. Adams only admitted his crime in 2018 and finally lead police to her backyard grave.
Let’s hope Dawson finally gives Lynette’s family closure too

Behind paywall

Chris Dawson has been separated for many months from his third wife, Sue.
He had a fall, broke hip and ribs
His lawyer says he's depressed and suicidal

Lynette was looking to adopt before she fell pregnant.

Two additional things I notice in the article:

The first is that media and 'certain family members' have an AV link so that they can follow the trial without being in the courtroom.

The second is that charges were filed against Dawson the month after Dawson's old rugby-playing friend RS came forward voluntarily and stated that Dawson had asked him if he knew anyone who could get rid of Lyn. RS' allegations are new (to the media), and have been kept secret since he came forward and made a police statement in Nov 2018.

Behind Paywall

Neighbour was "really frightened" for Lyn Dawson after an alleged 1981 incident.
No details on the page which seems to be a live update.

A friend and neighbour of mother-of-two Lynette Dawson claims she knew her husband, who is accused of murdering her, was having sex with their babysitter.

Ms Andrew, the first witness called in the judge-alone trial, said she initially heard a "loud, crying wailing" coming from the Dawsons' Bayview, Sydney, home in late 1981 and walked over to the property where she saw Ms Dawson backed up against the trampoline with Chris Dawson towering over her.

She described Dawson as being a huge man who was screaming at his crying wife.

A lovely photo of a very young Lynette.
It showed how much she adored her husband.

“I do believe Chris Dawson murdered his wife” - Julie Andrew tells Justice Ian Harrison. The former Bayview resident is the first witness to be called in the trial. She was a friend and neighbour of Lynette’s.

Lynette Dawson’s sister Patricia took to the stand late this afternoon. She told the court Lyn was “wonderful with the children, she absolutely adored them. Her prime care and prime thought were for the children”. Mrs Jenkins will return to the witness box tomorrow.
