You have to have an IP address for your wifi account, an online way to pay the ride share and a home address, I believe.

It would be possible, I guess, to somehow fake ALL of the above---but why? Just to pour scalding coffee on a random child in a park? I don't get it. All of the effort to do the above for what?
I guess unorganized crime ,will always be just that . On the other hand even crime will organize. This suspect ,this crime ,the tactic ,all with the knowledge that this face would be on multiple camera's . Dont make a lick of sense to me ..

And he seemed to be aware of the cameras, looking straight at them in the pics.

Have to keep the images of this creature alive in everyone’s mind …. Someone has to know him…

Does the way he's looking out OVER the glasses lenses make you think he doesn't normally wear glasses? Like it's just part of his disguise?

Or maybe they're just reading glasses. But he had them on in the pic where he was running also, right? I know I personally couldn't run wearing my reading glasses; I can barely walk with them on.

I can't see clearly more than about six inches in front of my nose, but I'll still look over my glasses at times when a sudden sound or movement catches my attention. It's not a conscious thing, it's automatic to look in the direction of the thing without taking the extra time to move my head. Probably something leftover from when humans were on the menu of many different creatures thousands of years ago.

Seriously ,if we are gonna spot details on this guy..I bet that there is a dry cleaner somewhere close by questioning this dudes clothing options and workout routine.
His calves are saying something ,and the flannel is hiding something. IMO...Also are those no show socks ?

Maybe they don't want him to know they figured out his identity yet?

That is what I think. That they know exactly who he is. They just can't find him. But they are going to keep him off-balance by not revealing anything that they already know. Why give him any hints?

They don't have that many intelligence officers (more than 6) working a case and not know anything. Those officers will be using their contacts, using their resources, to find him. If he hasn't already off-ed himself by jumping off a cliff into the ocean or something like that.

imo

I kinda thought it looked like they were exactly telling him what they know ,complete with video evidence , am I missing something?

The photos were published very early in the piece, from immediately after the incident. Nothing since. I think they were published to have people turn him in, and maybe to get him to turn himself in. As we have said before, he was probably somewhat disguised/altered at that point. Glasses, hat, large shirt, long shorts.

Initially the police did say publicly "turn yourself in, go to a lawyer, we're going to find you".

I feel pretty sure they will have a lot of CCTV of him after that. CCTV of him in his "change of clothes" (they have never said what those clothes are), CCTV of him at/near the rideshare destination ... which was a busy street near a large stadium, public transport hub, bars and pubs. All unpublished.

That is what I meant.

It's starting to remind me of the acid attack in London. They knew pretty quickly who that guy was, but it took a few weeks for his body to surface in the river.

If this man has taken his own life, it might explain why it seems to be taking a very long time to find him, despite very clear images and a digital trail (the rideshare).

There are also the hidden dangers of being scalded by hot liquid. Years ago when my nephew was 18 mnths. old he went to play at a next door neighbours house. He somehow managed to pick up a hot cup of coffee which went down his chest. He was rushed to hospital and luckily he wasn't too badly burnt. He was treated and sent home the same day.

However, a week later my sister awoke to find his cot covered in green vomit and feces and he was very lethargic. Again he was taken to hospital but they had no clue what was wrong with him and tried everything to get him stable. He was rushed to a specialised children's hospital but his heart stopped on the way, they managed to revive him but he arrested again when they arrived at the hospital.

Unfortunately, he didn't make it. Turns out from just a small burn he developed toxic shock syndrome which is a condition that can develop from an infection and once in the blood stream can be fatal.

I only mention this as a note of caution because, although rare, unforeseen complications can arise.

Thankfully though, looks like this little boy will heal physically.

In that case they released his name and told the public not to approach him.
I know the cases are in different countries and the police don't always take the same actions, but it makes me think they don't even know who this guy is.

This is why I wondered if it could have been a targeted attack.

Queensland Police Detective Inspector Paul Dalton described the attack as being “almost like an ambush”

But...

How did he know the family would be in this particular park?

Did he stalk the family?

Wasn't he afraid he would be overpowered by adults shortly after the attack?

I'm more and more convinced it was random attack by a disturbed individual.

Anything could have set him off.
And he attacked with what he had in his hands at that moment.

I remember when I was a teen,
one day as my friend and I were standing at the bus stop,
suddenly an older woman started throwing stones at my friend
and then ran away.

Why?
Nobody knows

I'm not sold on the theory, because we only know what has been published. But it has crossed my mind a few times, and until we know more I think all cards are on the table.

Why this baby? Why the plan of changing clothes, etc? How did he know there would even be a baby in the park at that time? Did he lay in wait, waiting for a baby ... any baby? There seems to be a level of premeditation about it.

If it was targeted, there would have to be a 'reason' for wanting to cause such pain and suffering to this family. Pain and suffering that hits harder than if hot coffee was thrown on either parent.

Re the "plan of changing clothes"

It could simply be
that he took off the shirt-jacket because he felt too hot with the running/adrenaline pumping.
