The Giant, with a limp!
He disappeared in 1986 from Belgium.
This is what Mrs Flammes son in law thought right>?
The Nijvel Killers

Another of the gang was portrayed by the public as a 'Friendly person'

""The suspect's neighbors cannot believe that the 68-year-old man was once a member of the Gang of Nivelles. 'Jean-Marie is the friendliest person in Brussels and the wider area. He helps us where he can and always has sweets for the children in the neighborhood. He just can't be a cold-blooded killer. Even when the neighbors hear that Tinck has already been convicted three times for blows and injuries and manslaughter after provocation, they remain firmly behind him
As previously reported, the suspect is no stranger to justice. Investigators consider him responsible for two murders in 1981 and 1991 in Brussels."""

I can imagine some people would think this of AH too

They could have asked him if it was him who put the ad in. The words were that you put an ad in.

I thought it was the wrong approach to accuse him, because even then I had my doubts that it would have been him.

I thought they handled it unfairly then, and I still think that.
Yes. And you don't just turn up at someone's house mob handed and start shouting at them in another language. Very unprofessional and unnecessary. This was not the information which turned up the lead. The advert was but not the person. I wish Hedley had been able to take it on. He's far more professional and intelligent.

Tonight was a bit of a rewrite of history.
I was gobsmacked when they said that this was the information which turned up the lead. It was not.

This was because some still think they went about it all wrong and they can't just apologise.

As I mentioned previously, I looked into the Brabant gang a year or so ago and discounted AKA as LeGéant as he was reported to be 6’ 5 » in most reports. I don’t know why Liam said AKA was 6’4 » he is more like 6’2 ». Not many witness statements about LeGéant mention a limp and in some reports it’s uncertain if they are even referring to Le Géant. Le Géant was also reported to have a wine stain birthmark in some reports. My view is that it was a gang of multiple tall criminals also with one being exceptionally tall. I have always Felt AKA was connected in some way…just not Le Géant.
I see a strong chance of Le Géant being « The Gentleman of Heligoland »
They (Euro LE) have Le Géant’s fingerprints, right?
I was reading about the Brabant Gang recently after seeing them on the MPMB fb page. I read a lot of true crime, so fairly toughened, but found them to be genuinely scary to read about.

Burwash would be a nice, not-too-distant little 80s nook for someone palling around w that kind of an OC group hey. A lot of work though, and risky. Easier to switch it up and fleece women instead.

One theory of mine has been that DdeH flew over for a quick visit and it was she who returned as MB. Their son was not living at home then and their daughter was just 16yo I think. She could have been at a swimming camp or staying with a friend's family at the time. So DdeH flies to Amsterdam using a fake passport which RB organised, a day or two before RB himself flew home. He gives her MB's passport with photo changed and passenger cards already filled out, RB flies home and DdeH flies home two days later posing as MB.
I’ve always wondered whether it was DDeH who made the bank withdrawals. As someone who worked in bank investigations for money years,it absolutely was possible for someone to impersonate another back in the 90’s.

They have a fingerprint from a taxi cab that they believe Le Géant travelled in but they are not sure whether it was him. There was also DNA from some blood when it was believed Le Géant got injured by a shoot out on the last event and they found the car abandoned. In some reports this seems to be behind the incorporation of the « Limp ». The witness reports are all so varied and collection of evidence was not great. suspicions that the gang had Gendarmerie connections (or even were Gendarmes) did not help.

I think it was.
Marion's friend described her as reserved repeatedly. I would also interpret this as her being a private person. Not one to rock up to a bank with a flower behind her ear announcing that she was going to Bali to "loose herself". Telling all in sundry that she was "starting a new life and wanted her whereabouts to be unknown " It would laughable if it wasn't so awful

Could anyone give a very brief summary of what was mentioned on the TV program. I’ve been very intrigued about the timings of his living in quiet rural Burwash and the events going on in Belgium at that time.
I’ve always wondered as well about the Brinks-Mat robbery in 1983 and connections in that part of the country, esp Kenny Noye! 2 gangs operating on two sides of the channel at the same time. Highly sus.

Kenneth Noye lived a few roads away from my parents before the M25 murder and I happened to pass him a couple of times in his car. This was a man who wasn’t scared to show his wealth.
