There is no mention of a car, so she seemingly didn't drive away...

Also, I can't find husband's "desperate plea" video - perhaps it's only in the DailyTelegraph link.

She's been gone nearly a week...

A forensic psychiatrist says when Melissa Caddick's home was raided by federal police investigating her fraud, it might have been enough to cause her to take her own life.

Dr Kerri Eagle diagnosed Ms Caddick with a 'narcissistic personality disorder' but noted the limitations of never having interviewed her and purely based on statements and other records.

Ms Caddick portrayed herself as a highly successful and affluent person and fed her self-esteem through the admiration of others, Dr Eagle told the inquest.

Facing exposure as a fraud and not appearing as brilliant as she projected, if she felt she could not recover from such humiliation she may suddenly feel no other outlet than suicide, Dr Eagle said.

But from her assessments the doctor did not believe she displayed psychopathic or sociopathic tendencies.

There was a post in the previous thread about Melissa's family supporting AK and they all blame ASIC.

IMO here is no proof AK did not tell family that MC had gone missing until many hours later. Is it possible that they all knew about it but have agreed to say otherwise? Did her brother assist in her escape in any way?

I think a forensic analysis of all phone and text contacts between all family members and MC's phone is in order. I guess that has not been done yet.

What are the traits of sociopathy?

The list of common traits you might see in someone who has antisocial personality disorder, says Dr. Coulter, include:

  • Not understanding the difference between right and wrong.
  • Not respecting the feelings and emotions of others.
  • Constant lying or deception.
  • Being callous.
  • Difficulty recognizing emotion.
  • Manipulation.
  • Arrogance.
  • Violating the rights of others through dishonest actions.
  • Impulsiveness.
  • Risk-taking.
  • Difficulty appreciating the negative aspects of their behavior.
Some with sociopathy may not realize that what they’re doing is wrong while others may simply not care. And sometimes, Dr. Coulter says, it can be both.

“There’s just a total lack of empathy or recognizing that what they’ve done has hurt someone or it’s only benefited themselves,” he says. “And sometimes they might recognize what they’re doing is wrong, they just don’t care or they justify it to themselves.”

Lachlan Gyles, SC, representing the NSW police, has been told by the coroner to stop asking Anthony Koletti leading questions. Gyles has asked: You're not very numerate, are you? You didn't win any academic prizes at school? You were at the bottom of your class, weren't you?

My first thought, especially if the psych is labeling her a narcissist, is that she disappeared on purpose to start a new life rather than face fraud charges. MHO based on first gut reaction. So many going missing these days, ending up dead with suspicions of abductions, it might be an easy plan to stage a disappearance?

After all his claims - especially in song - that he & his wife Melissa Caddick were not given food, water, or medical attention, "which we all desperately needed," during the raid on their house in 2020 her husband Anthony Koletti has now said this: "We weren’t denied anything."

During questions from a barrister for the AFP, the inquest is played audio of Melissa Caddick and Const Amelia Griffen. It's at the end of a 12h search of Ms Caddick's home, Nov 2020. Ms Caddick is asked if she has any comments about the way it was carried out. "No," she replied.

"Before we leave the premises, is there anything further you wish to say?" Const Griffen asked. "No," Ms Caddick replied. Mr Koletti has previously claimed that during the raid they were denied food, water and medical attention.

ASIC's barrister suggests Anthony Koletti has "lost the plot." Melissa Caddick's husband still believes that his wife died "as a direct result of ASIC’s negligence, cruelty & inhumanity" but accepts that she wasn't deprived of food, water or medical attention during that raid.

Some questions

Could AK have been expressing “torture” as the narcissistic injury caused to MC by the raid? (don’t they know who she is)

Was MC so acutely effected that she walked to the Gap and lept and was it on the night of the raid?

I read narcissistic personality disorder can have serious consequences

Deputy state coroner Elizabeth Ryan has just addressed Ms Caddick's brother, Adam Grimley, who is sitting in the public gallery. "I'm finding your facial expressions are quite dramatic," she says, and they are distracting. "I will ask you to restrain yourself".

Mr Grimley was told that if he can't restrain himself he should watch the inquest in an adjoining courtroom. He stands up and leaves. Mr Koletti says he wasn't distracted.
