‘A MAN has been charged with the murder of Tamworth mother-of-one Teah Luckwell.

Jesse Leigh Green will front Tamworth Local Court on Wednesday charged with murder, following his arrest in a Sydney prison on Tuesday morning.

It’s understood the now 27-year-old was known to the 22-year-old before he allegedly killed her inside the Robert Street unit in South Tamworth on March 28.

Ms Luckwell was attacked inside her unit and her body, alongside her 13-month-old daughter, who was uninjured, was discovered about 9.30pm on March 28, by a neighbour.

A 22-year-old young lady murdered in her own home is a horrible tragedy and the homicide squad and Oxley detectives were working round the clock on this to resolve the matter.- Homicide squad Detective Chief Inspector Gary Jubelin

Green was arrested in coordinated police raids in Tamworth on April 5. He faces charges of aggravated break-and-enter and goods in custody in relation to an alleged break-in in Oxley Vale on March 27.’

Unbelievable what jlg did in just under 24hrs and murdering Teah in the middle of his
rampage from house to house, finishing with commiting a crime 400 k's away in Hornsby.

Murdered mum’s body not discovered for 17 hours, police allege

According to court documents, Green is accused of breaking into an Ernst Street house in Oxley Vale between 8 and 11pm on March 27 and stealing from the house, knowing there were people inside at the time.

He’s also accused of unlawfully obtaining goods, namely a Samsung phone and black iPhone, at Oxley Vale at the same time. Police allege the goods were stolen and Green had them at his premises in Calala.

Detectives will allege Green also had a 40cm knife that he used to intimidate a woman between 4.10am-4.30am on March 28 – around the same time of the alleged murder.

He’s accused of then attempting to break into the same woman’s property in Robert Street while armed with the knife, between 4am-4.30am.

Green also faces charges of larceny of an Apple Ipad worth $500 between 8am and 8.20am on March 28 in South Tamworth as well as larceny of two suitcases of clothing and two laptops between 5.30 and 5.35pm at Hornsby in Sydney. Busy boy but not too quick for DCI Jubelin.

It only takes 4 and a half hours to travel to Sydney, so less to travel to Hornsby before all the traffic...
I am guessing from the article, they mean they don't know whether he stole a car or whether an accomplice had driven him. Perhaps he didn't have a car. Assumingly from the preciseness of the charges a mobile phone was tracked, either the stolen ones or his own.

Update:

‘A man who was charged over the 'violent and brutal' murder of a 22-year-old mother, has been declared mentally unfit to stand trial.

On Monday Jesse Leigh Green, 28, was charged with killing his friend Teah Rose Luckwell just metres from her unharmed one-year-old daughter in 2018.

Police believed the two knew each other as Ms Luckwell was discovered dead in her apartment in South Tamworth, New South Wales on March 28.

NSW Supreme Court Justice Richard Button deemed Green unfit during a mental health fitness inquiry and referred him to a mental health review tribunal.

Green will remain behind bars until his hearing, The Daily Telegraph reported.’
