IMO, it is very doubtful that she will ever be "rehabilitated". Nevertheless, it is not her fault, and I hope that she can at least have a reasonably happy and comfortable life.
Yeah it's devastating. She gets weekend visits with her family

ADMIN NOTE:

I think the problem we have here is that the perpetrator was also a minor, so regardless of the victim's parents giving consent, publishing the victim's name has the potential to identify the minor perp who was found not criminally responsible.

While the parents have given permission to ABC to release their daughter's name, there is nothing from NSW authorities that the ban has been lifted.

Until Tricia can weigh in, please hold off naming the young victim on the board until it's decided which route to go. In the meantime, links to articles containing her name are fine, as long as her name doesn't appear on the public pages.

Thanks to everyone for your cooperation.

Tricia thinks we need to stay safe, and until NSW authorities okay it, "there is no need to post her full name".

I am wondering if we can maybe re-consider this as NSW Parliament has no issue with her being named ( as per my last post )

I also think it would mean the world to her parents & her dad is really not doing well atm

Thanks

Sorry folks, but just because a petition in her name was presented by an MP using her name, there is still nothing from the actual NSW legal authorities themselves that the ban has been lifted.

We have to remember that the perp is also a minor who was determined to be not criminally responsible. That has not changed, and therefore that minor, that child needs protection for as long as authorities deem it necessary.

As much as we can sympathize and empathize with the circumstances and wishes of the parents, WS tries to stay within the laws of other countries.
