Police have charged a couple with murder and torture after discovering a body in a shallow grave in a forest in Beerburrum, north of Brisbane.

'28-year-old missing woman Tia Landers suffered a violent death after voluntarily going to the Brighton home of de facto couple John Edward Harris and Linda Eileen Appleton, police allege.

Landers was last seen on June 16 in the Deception bay and Redcliffe area.'

The family of a 28-year-old woman who was allegedly tortured before she was killed and dumped in a Sunshine Coast forest say they are desperate for answers.

Two people from Brighton have been charged with murder after the body of Tia Landers, 28, was discovered in a shallow grave north of Roys Road in Beerburrum on Thursday.

John Edward Harris, 42, and Linda Eileen Appleton, 40, have also each been charged with three counts of deprivation of liberty, torture, interfering with a corpse, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and two counts of unlawful possession of weapons.

THE still-active Facebook profile of slain “Bonnie and Clyde” mum Tia Maria Jayne Landers reveals a woman who spent her life struggling to stay on the right side of the law.

Police ended weeks of agony for the 28-year-old’s family yesterday when her body was found dumped in a Queensland forest.

Landers was one half of a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde duo, accused of abusing drugs and participating in a violent home invasion. She suffered from schizophrenia and had fallen victim to the 2011 floods in Ipswich in which she lost most of her belongings.

She leaves behind four young children and her longtime lover, Wade Bartz, a notorious gang member who is in prison.

Some very harrowing details about the torture of Tia have been released. Two of her male friends are alleged to have been forced to watch as well, at gunpoint. I feel so sorry for her children. I hope family can break the news to them gently, in the least painful way, before they hear it from someone else.

It is very hard to think how that could be done though. It's just so awful to think about them hearing this. My thoughts are with them.

I hope whoever did this to Tia is locked away and never, ever sees the light of day.

So, so horrible. They made sure that Tia couldn't run, and even stopped for a little 'refresher' part way through their horrendous attack! And was this all in retribution because she ran from a police raid at that house in May? Was she thought to have drawn the police there?

Her sometime boyfriend is part of the Angry Gang in jail so those two are in real trouble. Tia was no angel obviously but what a horrible way to go.

Here is an early report from when Tia was still missing. I can't help feeling police knew straight away something bad had happened her. I wonder what it was that made them think that?

Just because she was a mum who always stayed in contact with family, or did police know some reason someone might have wanted to harm her?

'Ms Landers was sighted entering a business on Gateway Motorway, Nudgee on June 16 and was wearing a blue top and white shorts at the time.'

The alleged killers held two men with Tia at gunpoint, let them witness her murder and then (I'm presuming) let them go.

So they must have been confident those witnesses wouldn't talk then?
