How far away is the Casino Hospital?
I dont have a problem with him having another lot of tea and toast, if was going to be away for lunch, hadnt he been up since about 6am?
Maybe his plans changed when William went missing.
We know he was around when his BIL turned up.
I hope they say if he rung his brother and said sorry mate cant pick you up and look after you now.....

360 kms away 4 hour drive. each way.
that's a big days driving.
was he packing ready to go the next day maybe?
older folk tend to like to get an early start and be home before dark.
would account for somebodys whereabout for a day definately driving to casino and back.

He was planning to be away some days . . . so, not a one-day round trip.

That would be interesting to know.

I'm still wondering why he didn't go? After all, there were lots of other people to search for William.

I'm beginning to wonder if he ever had planned to go. Seemed to be a lot of fiddling about and wasting time drinking tea etc for someone who had a long drive ahead. IMO.

I don't think having a second breakfast is that unusual if your first one was awhile ago, you're going somewhere and not sure what you could get there at a reasonable price, ie a hospital or elsewhere.

I sometimes have a second breakfast of tea and toast and maybe a piece of fruit if I'm going out and don't feel like having to take time to eat out.
