I was just wondering today if - once the inquest is over - the FP will consider bringing another child into their family. Another child in need, who will be a little brother or sister for 'Lindsey', and bring and receive more joy in all of their lives.

I am sure William will always, always hold a special place deep in their hearts - and William got and gave so much happiness in their family. It might be something beautiful for all of them to move forward with.
What a lovely thought, SA.

They certainly need some happiness after all this time. My heart breaks for them.

Do you know that for sure? just curious. Must look look it up!

There is no age restriction. Other than being over a certain age.
Good health is important, at any age.

You:
are ideally over the age of 25
are an Australian citizen or permanent resident
are in good health
do not have an unfavourable criminal record.

Agencies will look at your competence in certain areas such as:
your personal readiness to become a foster carer
your ability to work effectively as part of a team
your capacity to promote the positive development of children and young people in care
your ability to provide a safe environment that is free of abuse.

How to become a foster carer

Yes, I understand that is why William was placed in foster care.
It is very sad that a child cannot play in his grandma's garden without being abducted.

There is certainly an abductor at fault here ... nobody else.

Big problem in Australia with victim blaming and it needs to stop.

like when people say a woman shouldn’t be out at night. Or shouldn’t walk on their own. Or wear revealing clothes.
It should be, men should just leave women the hell alone.
It’s easy to say in hindsight that they shouldn’t have left him unattended for a few minutes in the safety of their home.

Is it a safe thing to leave a child playing unsupervised on a large block that has no fences/gates?

And none of us know exactly how long he was left unsupervised for... Certainly long enough to be abducted.

1. It wasn't the safety of their own home.

2. How do we know it was only a few minutes that William was unsupervised?

I think it is time to stop now, KateM. We are not here to place any blame on any of the victims here. It is against TOS.

We take all due care to not denigrate any of the parents or their behaviour. They are victims who have suffered a terrible loss. It is a cold heart that places any blame on them. imo

We are here to discuss the POIs, and the relevant things to finding William.

Excellent tactful post, SA.

WS isn't the place for people with personal agendas. That's where Social media comes in, unfortunately. Although I think in light of recent legal decisions, that might be about to change too, thank heavens.

I actually find your post offensive to a degree.

Yes the yard was (partially) unfenced, but the area the children were playing was right in front of the 2 adults watching them. (Pic below)

Just because a 3yo took a turn out of their sight doesn't make them bad parents or even bad foster parents. Better than many parents do these days.

Have you never lost sight of your child/ren, in a shopping centre, in your own yard (which I'm sure isn't perfectly childproof because nobody's is), or anywhere?

Some members here are attributing me with saying things that I haven't said.

Whereabouts have I said that the foster parents were bad parents?

I must correct your post though. William was NOT being watched by 2 adults when he 'disappeared'. Quite the contrary actually.

You did infer the FC'ers were bad parents, asking the questions that you did - several times.

And yes he was being watched by 2 adults, no doubt about it at all. FFC and FG were both on the back porch when he vanished.

You didn't respond to my question about losing sight of your children, so I have to assume that it has happened - as it has to most parents. Just lucky that an abductor wasn't waiting around the corner to abduct them.

William was not in sight of the FM or the FGM when he disappeared.

Paul Spedding told the court that when he went to speak to William's foster grandmother – a 30-second conversation – she told him that William's foster mother had left him outside while she went in to make a cup of tea.

Who's Paul Spedding??

The FFC & FGM were NOT inside making tea, it was plainly explained in great agonising detail at the inquest, down to the fine detail of how they like their tea.

Correction, I mean Paul Savage.

The accounts, in this case, seem to change a lot with the FM. First of all, making a cup of tea, then on the porch. Firstly no strange cars, then 2 cars parked across the road (that only she saw).

Last photo was at William's preschool, then on the morning he disappeared...
