Hard to say Marg944. IMO Grazes can happen very easily if you fall onto a rough surface, especially one that contains the odd bits n pieces that fall from trees like was at 48 Benaroon. I wonder if the graze was looked at by detectives on the day William vanished. IMO they should have noticed this graze. Maybe she received medical attention so the graze didn't get infected. She may have required a tetanus injection to ward off any nasty infection. Garden areas can contain a multitude of bugs and bacterium that cause nasty things to humans. IMO from someone that has had many grazes from falls in my garden and the occasional tetanus injection ouch!
They must fall over a lot that family IMO. Falls have all been used to explain items / points of interest on the periphery of this case...

The first two raise suspicion IMO as didnt FFC claim WT didnt warm to her initially and had only called her "mum" that morning aswell...timing is convenient on all of these...

As I said its a lot of falls happening at crucial moments of this case

Police said Middle Brother State Forest and surrounds will be searched from Thursday morning. The focus of the search since William went missing last Friday morning has been the Kendall State Forest and the area around Benaroon Drive.

Superintendent Paul Fehon said the State Emergency Service's volunteers will walk the forest's trails as they search for part of a vehicle that may have become detached.

Teams of emergency services began the first of a two-day search of roadsides ‘‘in case something has been thrown’’, said NSW Police Rescue Sergeant John King.

‘‘It will be a sweep search of the side of the road,’’ he told volunteers at a briefing in Kendall on Thursday.

FFC's police walkthrough was the following day. Perhaps Fehon searched the wrong location.

"Today we are also canvassing people driving along the Batar Creek Road, who may have been coming along that route last Friday," he said.

"We're just seeing if they saw anything, if they saw any vehicle or person, suspicious or not suspicious."

BBM. IMO, that is never the child's fault, ever.

IMO black eyes are always from injuries aside from falls, unless very unlucky, as people try to protect their head and eyes instinctively. IME you never drop a child who is trying to climb you, you just drop down to them. I had never heard about his recent (prior to disappearance) black eye until now. I am just new here but obviously have heard about this case. I just know bits and pieces about the system (the department etc.) I'm emotional about the whole case much more now that the people entrusted with caring for him could be directly involved. Obviously it's a devastating case either way but the implications for things like levels of deception and motive, and good-enough parenting vs risk are huge. Poor little thing.

Quite true.

I am not claiming that she was not good to WT. It's clear that he didn't take to her as being his mother and I guess that would not be an easy thing to experience for some 3 years.

However, I do think it was highly irresponsible of the FM to not fully supervise him at that property, given his age and now that we also hear that he was boisterous and 'jumping out of his skin' at the time.

Sons usually have strong bonds with their Mums. Daughters with their Dads.

So what does 'long term 'out of home' care mean? They are just going to leave the children with the foster family indefinitely, with hour long bi-monthly visits ? o_O

That sounds traumatic in itself, imo.

yup, adoption is incredibly rare in Australia and has been for a long time. A couple who are friends of my parents looked into it and were told it almost doesn't exist in Australia anymore and when it happens it's open and little different to long term fostering anyway. They were looking into adopting overseas (which is where basically all Australian adopted children come from) when IVF was at long last successful for them.

Australian authorities tend to be very pro-reuniting with family, in my limited peripheral professional knowledge and experience. I think to an extent a history of religious and governmental organisations taking indigenous and poor babies of single mothers off their mothers by force might have something to do with it.

Yes , energetic 3 yr olds can get lots of bumps & bruises .. our first son was always running into things ,2 nd son different personality - very careful no bruises .. I think it is different with different kids & can’t really infer anything from it .

I don’t feel that confident that police will discover what actually happened to WT ..

It is no wonder they took a dig at GJ, I mean, seriously .. he really should have had that car thoroughly gone over then.
In fairness He was also 5 months after the fact. Think they have all been hoodwinked from the start if it ends up being what is insinuated.

Yes though 100% all avenues should have been checked from day 1.

Apparently checked but obviously not thoroughly and without confirmation bias ; IMO

‘NO SIGNS’: Gary Jubelin defends William Tyrrell’s foster parents as he reveals ‘covert operation’

"
"He added that during his time on the case, they investigated “every theory” including that William may have been hit by a car in the driveway, fallen over and hit his head on a rock or fallen off the balcony, but he said any theory had to be backed up with facts."

“I can’t recall the specific details but we certainly flagged there was a possibility that there was an accident that was covered up,” he said.

The current investigation is considering whether William might have died after falling from the balcony of the foster grandmother’s house.

"Today we are also canvassing people driving along the Batar Creek Road, who may have been coming along that route last Friday," he said.

"We're just seeing if they saw anything, if they saw any vehicle or person, suspicious or not suspicious."

Yes, but with there being a $1 million reward up for grabs I'd have thought anyone with something to say about that would have been on the phone way before now.

Governments (esp NSW Liberal governments) do have policies about encouraging and increasing adoption rates. They are still open adoptions, though.

More foster children adopted after government reforms, Pru Goward says

"When we started this reform journey, I wanted to ensure that children who could not stay safely with their parents would have a safe and loving home for life," Ms Goward said.

"We hope to continue to see a change in attitude towards open adoption, one where the community understands that open adoption can provide a safe and loving home for life with an adoptive family."

Have just listened again to the 60 Minutes 'Where is William' interview by Michael Usher with FFC and MFC.

During the interview, FFC says that when she couldn't see or hear WT, she thought that she shouldn't phone triple 000 'straight away'.

However, in the recording of her telling the 000 Operator how long he had been missing, she said it was about 15 to 20 minutes.

To my mind, that 15 to 20 minutes time -frame (which would include going back up into the house to use FGM's landline) .....wouldn't be considered much outside of the 'straight away' time-frame!

Out of context Bowie .. my comment was relative to the poster who had links for 2014 a week after
William disappeared and my link had a 2014 link attached . so the reward is not yet relevant .

Re relevance ; that the investigation returned closer to home on the 7th day

Queries about Why didn't FM call FF? Why did FF ring FM 5 minutes before turning up?

This bit has always troubled me a little, if your child has gone missing, and in the early stages of panic increasing while looking initially, wouldnt your first call be to your husband who has been out be something along the lines of... "hey I know you arent due home until 1030am, but you by chance didnt come home early and pick WT up and go back out did you? He was playing on the patio and we havent heard him, just want to make sure he isnt with you.."

Granted I know we all behave differently under stressful situations, but given the clarity of head presented in the 000 call, it would seem logical that a step such as this should have taken place...husband conference call or not...

A black eye specifically? Oh that's interesting. I know all about clumsy or fast paced kids but I've never seen a black eye. My sister even punched me in the eye and it didn't get that black-eye-look. Was it like the photo of WT? I suppose in conjuction with the BM on supervised access feeling that he was being cuddly for him, which sounds clingy to me, it does sound like something IMO. Hearing those things together.
