The dog squad’s ability to detect Ws scent was not affected at all as we know Ws scent was picked up at the house but stopped “ beyond the perimeter “.

IIRC, the tracker dogs could only find his scent in the backyard.

If this happened today, NSW Police would be expected to create an incident scene at and around the house, and strictly control entry to it.

That’s right JB.. Regardless of who and how many people trampled over that area that morning, dogs were still able to detect Ws scent in the backyard.

However, I believe they would have liked to have found it elsewhere ... such as the front yard where he was supposedly playing at some time that morning and maybe in the street.

Seriously ? Only found in the back yard ?
What about inside the house, what about on the deck, on the bike he was riding, in the garden he so deliberately crashed into ?

I believe that the police were trying to find a trail leading away from the house on the basis that he may have wandered off, but to no avail.

Not limited to the back yard it seems.

"Police dogs were brought to the scene shortly after William disappeared in 2014 and they detected his scent but only within the property's boundaries."

William Tyrrell vanished 10 years ago. Now there's hope Aussies could soon be given answers to his disappearance

  • William Tyrrell disappeared 10 years ago
  • Hopes delayed inquest will deliver answers

I can’t find any other children being kidnapped in Kendall before, or in the 10 years after Williams disappearance.

This seems to be a one off occurrence in this area IF he was in fact stolen away.

That’s the big question. Praying and hoping for more clarity on what really happened. Come November we should find out more. Wherever you are William you’ll forever be in our hearts

Not unusual.

Eg:
We haven't had any more children abducted from Glenelg beach since the Beaumont children were abducted together.
The small town of Mylor hasn't had any more children abducted since Wendy Pfeiffer was abducted, stabbed and left in the bush (she fortunately survived and was found 3 days later).
No other children have been abducted from Adelaide Oval since Joanne Ratcliffe and Kirste Gordon were abducted together.

imo

Great post by Nicole from

Australian Missing Persons Register

10 years ago today I got a call from Kendall, NSW. A little boy was missing. I thought he was lost in the bush, and the hundreds of police and volunteers out searching would soon find him. Especially as he was wearing a bright red Spiderman suit. How could they not spot him?
But 10 years on, and William Tyrrell is still missing. Shortly after that day I made the collage of photos below, and I am still using those photos today, of a 3 year old who would be a teenager now.
I am asked about William a lot, including on Channel 7's Sunrise last year, and people frequently say "You probably know what happened to him", as is the case with many missing persons - but I don't. I have no idea what happened that day. In all the many, many dramas that have happened since, I feel like William has become lost all over again, as adults throw accusations back and forth, wild theories emerge, people arrested and released, searches that turn up nothing. So what I'd like, for today, is to forget all that. Let's just honour William, on the anniversary of his last day, and remember the little three year old at the heart of it all.
You are loved, William.

These examples were in 1966,1966 and 1973.

There has been a lot of technological advancement since then and the Police resources thrown at this William Tyrrell case would be exponentially greater than the other 3 put together though IMO.
