PHOENIX — The FBI is asking the public for any information regarding the disappearance of a woman in Arizona more than four years ago, hoping for new leads in the case.
Cynthia Acevedo was last seen in August of 2019, walking near a cemetery near Laveen, the FBI said. On Aug. 31, 2019, Acevedo's mother reported her missing to the Gila River Police Department.
The FBI said Acevedo's mother had not heard from her for approximately two weeks, which was "unusual." Investigators believe that the circumstances surrounding Acevedo's disappearance and possible death appear suspicious, according to a press release.
A reward of $5,000 is being offered by the FBI for information leading to the indictment, arrest and conviction of those responsible for the disappearance and possible death of Acevedo.
