It's been 17 days since anyone last saw 25-year-old Doris Maricela Aguilar.

She went missing on the night of July 1. Her car was found abandoned seven days later near Interstate 17 and Bethany Home Road, and now her family is fearing the worst.

Her car was found in the parking lot of a mall, unlocked with her purse and wallet inside full of cash.

What really has her family scared is the fact that she had a stalker.

"There was this man that would follow her to different gyms," said David Lara, one of Doris' friends.

Her family says Doris' stalker was her coworker and he began sending her harassing messages.

Latest on the investigation

Fischer says he is requesting surveillance video from where her car was found and following her cell phone records, which recently pinged in Houston.

The desperate family hired missing persons private investigator Steve Fischer to help locate Aguilar.

Fischer told KSAZ-TV that Aguilar's alleged stalker would pop up in the parking lot of her gym.

The private investigator claims Aguilar was forced to switch gyms three times because of the man.

On June 9, Aguilar filed a police report after she noticed the man was following her at a Walmart in Phoenix, according to Fischer.

"I ask you all from the bottom of my heart to help me find Maricela safe and sound," the distraught mother told Univision.

According to Fischer, members of the police homicide unit arrived on the scene and dusted the car for prints on July 9. He also says that Aguilar's wallet, passport, credit cards and cash were still inside the unlocked car.

Fischer says that Aguilar had a stalker and that on June 9, she filed a report at a Walmart because a man was following her. He also says that a male friend who is close to Aguilar received threatening messages showing images of weapons via Messenger. This alleged stalker also sent Aguilar threatening messages, according to Fisher

Short timeline of Doris Maricela Aguilar's disappearance.

June 9:
Aguilar filed a police report after a man who had been stalking her was reportedly following her through a Walmart in Phoenix, Arizona. Aguilar also reported that she had to change three times, citing him following and harassing her.
June 27: The man who she says was stalking her sent her a message on Facebook reading, "Getting my membership back… see you soon," referring to the gym she goes to.
July 1: Aguilar goes missing after leaving her apartment complex around 7 pm.
July 17: Aguilar's Honda Civic is unlocked in a mall parking lot with her purse and wallet full of cash left behind.

Unfortunately she's been found dead. No more details except that the ME listed her date of death as July 7th even though she went missing on July 1st. So LE knows a lot more than they are revealing at this point.

Likely - The date of death for a missing person is usually based on the date they were reported missing, unless other evidence is available. That information is not usually released to the public, especially in a case where a crime may have occurred. I am so sorry to hear the news.

Her car was found sitting for days outside a fashion store at the Christown mall in Phoenix.

They found her purse, her wallet, her passport, credit cards, cash, so it was clear the motive was not robbery. The car was unlocked,” Fischer said.

[...]

He said her phone data shows the phone was shut off not long after 8 p.m. on July 1, when she went missing, but then it shows activity the next day.

On the Second at 9-something in the morning, it pinged in Peoria for a very short amount of time,” said Fischer.

[...]

While Aguilar is a missing persons investigation, the warrant said something at the top.

“This is a homicide search warrant,” Fischer read us from the paper.

[...]

The words “possible homicide” are at the top of the paper, which only escalates the fear her family and friends feel knowing Aguilar had told them about a stalker.

“She did tell her family and important people in her life about this person, and that if anything happened to her, he was responsible and he scared her,” Fischer said.

Fischer said the alleged stalker worked at the same building as Aguilar, and said he was fired about a year ago after she reported his threatening actions.

This is so awful! Apparently their bodies were found in his car at a shopping center on July 7th and they just identified them. LE says it appeared they had already been deceased for a few days. Such a coward!

This is awful!

Around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, police were called to a steakhouse parking lot near 75th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard and found two people dead inside a car from apparent gunshot wounds. Investigators believe the bodies had been in the car for several days.

The car did not belong to Aguilar. A gun was also recovered inside.

The other body was identified as 51-year-old Juan Cuellar, who police say took his own life. Aguilar’s family and a private investigator believe Cuellar had been stalking her.

PI says it looks like she was killed somewhere else because there is no sign of her being shot in the car. He also says the suspect left a suicide note trying to stage it to look like she had killed herself. Such a monster.
