MISSING CHILD ALERT
1f6a8.png
#Tolleson, AZ

13-year-old Elijah Gumbus has been missing since August 31, 2024.

Tolleson PD say Elijah was last seen on surveillance video leaving Weiss Guys Express Wash in Tolleson, Arizona on foot.

Elijah may still be in Arizona, or he may travel to California, Louisiana or Las Vegas, Nevada.

Have you seen this child? Elijah Gumbus (mentions that he may go to IL)

This is very concerning as Elijah is only 13 and has been missing for over a month already. Does he have ant family in the above mentioned states? Why would he go there? Where could he be staying at?

So, according to the given information, he could be like everywhere?
Yes, this is so sad. By listing 2 states and a city in yet a third state, I’m guessing LE thinks he had ties to those places? But those are massive areas to find a young boy, and he’s already missing for so long. I hope he is safe with a family member or someone looking out for him.

Well, nobody seeing him is going to mistake him for an adult. He looks his age. Which can be good and bad. Good, because good people are going to query a kid that young on his own, if he's accessing services. Bad, because there are always people looking to exploit or harm vulnerable kids.

MOO

Unfortunately this child is still missing. This link has video footage of him running away. It says there are custody issues but LE doesn't believe he is with either parent. They have a dedicated officer assigned to his case.

At the time of Elijah's disappearance, his mother was driving from California to Louisiana for her work, according to Garrett, per the Arizona-based TV station. The mother and son stopped at the car wash, and while she was cleaning the vehicle, Elijah jogged away.

Neither Elijah nor his mother have ties to Arizona, which makes this case even more problematic and worrisome.

“What's most concerning is his age and the fact that he doesn't have ties to Arizona or any family here. We don't know how he would have connected with somebody here, or if he just simply ran away,” according to Garrett.

Tolleson Police said that the boy’s mom claims to have seen her son jumping into a stranger’s maroon SUV – but law enforcement officials have not been able to verify this claim, 12News reported.

Investigators believe the 13-year-old could still be in Arizona or may have ventured to California, Louisiana, Nevada, or Illinois, the center said.
