Young woman who was in a vehicle with a man (no information disclosed on him). Local police in Eloy, AZ attempted a traffic stop and the two individuals fled. The vehicle was found near a canal. While the man was recovered, he reported that he hadn't seen her after they had both jumped in the moving body of water. It would be the next day that her body would be recovered. It should be noted that this area is close to the Mexican border and so she may have recently immigrated in 2010.
There is no identification or many distinctive features, unfortunately. She's estimated to be about 17-25 and 5'4", wearing a black shirt and blue pants with a black beaded necklace. NamUS includes a postmortem image of the young woman (not necessarily graphic, but I don't want to post it here): The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)
Her NamUS ID is #UP9040.
I am including a composite image I made of her postmortem picture which may hopefully help identify her.
If you have any information or leads, please contact Pinal County Sheriff's Office (520) 866-5111 (Agency case number: 10 06 30 011) or Pima County Medical Examiner's Office (52) 724-8600.
