TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson police are searching for a 6-year-old girl who went missing from her home on the city's east side.

Isabel Mercedes Celis was last seen late Friday and discovered to be missing at about 8 a.m. Saturday.

Sgt. Maria Hawke says police are searching the area around East Broadway Boulevard and Craycroft Road using street patrols, canines, detectives and a helicopter.

She's described as just under 4-feet-tall and weighing 44 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

I think LE is stalling for time. It took a while before the video came out and then one person out of the five came forward. I believe it was two days after that when LE said it was the wrong video. I believe the first person that came forward would have told LE that right away but LE didn't inform the public till a day or two later that they screwed up. LE didn't know suspicious man but never mentioned for him to come forward, they only asked the five people too. I am sure they captured this man on other videos. Also LE has been so tight lipped I bet it took alot for them to bring out this video and now to renag saying wrong date. I think LE want to get things back to being tight lipped. JMO It seems LE was stretching for more time and trying to throw off the suspect as i am starting to think they have one. Just because LE said something along the lines "Tips are slowing down but the investigation is moving along". JMO

I know LE make mistakes, but I'm really stuck on this wrong video thing. Coupled with their odd statements at pressers, I can't decide if we have Keystone cops or if there's a big game going on behind the scenes that we have no idea about. If the latter is the case, that could explain the parents' silence - going along with whatever strategy was set up. I really wish we knew whether the BAU was still involved with this case or not.

Detectives with the Tucson Police Department say they are working with the Pima Sheriff’s Department to see if there is any type of connection between this assault and the disappearance of Isabel Celis.

Former FBI Agent Steve Moore tells Jane Velez-Mitchell the odds of these two events happening this close to each other are extremely rare and there is a strong possibility that these incidents are related.

LE said the search for this guy is 10 miles. Wonder why Isabel was 3 miles. Maybe because if there is a connection the perp went 10 miles from Isa school so they want to make the search a 10 mile radius ?

I think they are likely related as well. He could have gone in to take one but when he saw three, he did what he could right there.
For those who are unable to believe that a perp got in and out with Isa, this guy got in and molested 3 children with parents home and no one heard anything.

It isn't that hard when they are brazen enough.

As far as the video goes, i believe the cops made a mistake and admitted to it because they have a nother (correct) video to show. imo the one with the lurking figure wasn't meant to get out.

May the perp didn't take any one of those girls because one or two of the other girls woke up and there was no time to run with one. Cops would have been called right away and swarming the area. Maybe after taking Isa(if he did) he knew it would be to risky.

Tucson Police announced Monday that surveillance video of a group identified as potential witnesses in the Isabel Celis case was incorrectly dated and was not recorded on the night of her disappearance as they originally believed.
The video, which showed six people walking toward the neighborhood where the missing 6-year-old's family lives, was recorded in the early hours of Sunday April 22, not April 21.

Honestly, part of me wants to believe they're lying about the video because the alternative is just frightening- that LE could be so irresponsible and so lacking in attention to detail that they'd release the wrong video to the world. It worries me a lot if that's the case, though I'm still crossing my fingers that if it truly is the wrong night, they'll see something on the correct night. I prefer to pretend that they are scheming behind the scenes.

I also don't necessarily agree that they can't be lying because word would get out. At least 3 of the 5 people in the video have come forward and we've heard absolutely nothing about them- not their names, not even descriptions of them. I totally understand that the idea that they're lying may be far fetched to some, but I do not think it's impossible because "word would get out".
