I am worried Jerice will get away with this..please someone tell me she won't..it has been to quite..I don't like when its quite,makes me think LE has nothing!!!
 
While it is likely that she is moving because of eviction (the landlord said at the time of her arrest he wanted her gone and with no job and no income - kid related or other perhaps for nonpayment), Jerice's attorney does like to put his own "spin" on things doesn't he?

“After they executed the search warrant, [investigators] basically ripped up the home,” said Scott Maasen, an attorney representing Jhessye’s mother, Jerice Hunter.

Hunter is moving out of her Glendale apartment to a new location in the Valley, Maasen told ABC15.

Hunter still believes her daughter is alive, said Maasen. “Certainly, if she’s not dead, this would be a waste of time,” Maasen said of the plans to search a landfill for Jhessye’s body.

Glendale police announced they will be launching a search at a landfill south of the Valley in an effort to locate the body of a 5-year-old girl missing since October.

Jhessye's grandmother, Shirley Johnson, recently contacted ABC15 about the possibility of a landfill search, saying, "We had to suffer through Christmas knowing AZ has allowed GPD to let my child lay in the dump like she is trash. This confirms it. If this was a dog they would be [searching].”

Johnson also said, “The police wouldn’t let a dog stay in the trash like that this long. It just shows they are treating Jhessye like a piece of trash and they have been since day one.”

The person who treats her like trash is the one who put her in the dumpster.

But does this mean Shirley knows Jhessye is in the landfill?

Talk about ungrateful... Shirley, these are the people who are going to be up to their ears in some very smelly, stinky, disgusting ole garbage and painstakingly digging it up for days, maybe weeks, just so they can find Jhessye and give her a decent burial and justice.

Yeah, REALLY annoys me! I dont see her or her daughter suiting up to wade through several feet of waste to find that precious baby! She needs to shut her trap. Im sick of her mouth!

Maasen gives me a giant headache. Why do we need to know this? Who cares where jerice is living. As long as LE knows where she is, the general public could give a fig. A cardboard box is too good for her in my opinion.

I like the way he says LE ripped up "the home". Intimating a sense of ownership and that it was destroyed to the point she could no longer live there. Hey Maasen, jerice was living there free, courtesy of the State of Arizona. She will not have to lift a finger to clean it up, nor pay for any repairs to that APARTMENT.

Agreed, Knox. If his "spin" is an attempt to garner sympathy for poor lil Jerice it is an epic fail. At least here in WS parts.
 
This is eerily similar.

Detectives in Aurora, Colo., spent more than four years investigating the disappearance of 6-year-old Aaroné Thompson. Her father reported her missing in November 2005, saying the girl had stomped off after he refused to give her a cookie. A tip revealed Aaroné had been missing for months. Eventually, the girl's siblings opened up and told authorities their parents often whipped them with a belt and left Aaroné in a closet.

In 2009, Aaroné's father was convicted of child abuse resulting in death.

Maybe LE needs to offer her a shovel and a mask, and tell her to get busy in that bio-hazard landfill, and let her show them how to do it since she knows so much.


Jerice needs to get a job and stop living off of the government. She's able to work, and she has no kids to care for at home now. She's not entitled to a free ride.

I hope jerice does get a job. I'd love to see GPD arrest her in a very public place and the media film her perp walk. In the meantime ...

I really admire the officers volunteering for the search. They must be very brave. Not only because of the potential hazards they have to sift through in the landfill, but this task is just heartrending. While they want to find evidence of Jhessye to form a sound case against her mother and even find parts of her body so relatives can give her a proper burial, I'm sure the prospect of finding any of Jhessye's remains will be, at the same time, horrying. KWIM?

I hope Jerice doesn't get too comfortable in her new home. She'll be moving again soon..into a sprawling mansion with hundreds of rooms. And lots of company, including mothers who dearly miss their children and cannot fathom a mother who would harm her children. I can just imagine Jerice sitting at dinner with a group of the women when they begin sharing stories about their beloved children, and then suddenly turn to Jerice and ask her about her children. :gasp:

The first few pages are the search warrant we saw previously, the last pages list what was taken. Wow.....I don't even know what to say.....There are so many things that were taken I don't even know where to start. Prescription drugs (including oxycodone), diaries, belts, irons....there is so much. I am just sick to my stomach over this.

Oxycodone.....that figures. I always suspected Jerice had a drug problem beyond her marijuana use. There seemed to be a lot of prescription medication bottles taken from that apartment. I wonder if she was using, or selling, or both? With Oxy it usually is both. I wonder if the baby had traces of drugs in it's system after birth?

Jhessye clearly suffered a great deal while she was living with Jerice. It makes me sick to think about it.....and very angry too. I'm just as angry at Shirley/Susie as I am at Jerice. They both need to be in jail.

I admire them too. Even though they will be in protective clothing, and probably wearing breathing apparatus, there is still a very real risk to their health. They are truly heroic. No one volunteers for the fun of it. They want Jhessye to have the dignity she deserves, and they want justice for her. I think they also want to help the cousins have some closure.

Shirley/Susie just needs to shut up. She has no moral right to even open her mouth about Jhessye. Where was she when Jerice was abusing that sweet little girl? If the cousins were concerned, then Shirley should've been concerned as well....but she did nothing to help save Jhessye. All the grandstanding she's doing now just disgusts me.

Jerice....I am praying that these wonderful,caring police officers find Jhessye. I think they will. You are going down, and Shirley/Susie can't help you. Trying another scam won't work. How cold-hearted you must be to let your own child rot away in a trash heap. But your day of reckoning is coming....

Again, Maasen's comments, insert large sigh. Nothing was found other than items that exist in all homes ...

GPD's search of the apartment took place 6 weeks after Jhessye was reported missing.
I don't think jerice would be stupid enough to leave overt traces of evidence (beyond that which you can't see, forensically speaking) of Jhessye's death and disposal.
What she did not count on however; Jhessye's siblings telling the truth in regards to what happened to Jhessye.
So components of evidence which can validate their statement, i.e., an iron, phone book, blue kitchen bowl, incense, etc., needed to be located and put into evidence.
 
Why is Jhessye's name redacted in the documents? It's not like we don't know it yet.

OMG, they found an 8-year old with an iron burn in the child abuse investigation in April 2011 and just left the kids there???
 
Items that struck me in the list of items seized:

2 cps notices and list of medications

Bag of used latex gloves

3 seperate irons ?? (Jerice hrdly seems the type to use 1 let alone need 3)

Handwritten ltr requesting (redacted) birth certificate

Check for 10$ toAZ vital records


I am curious what cps notices say exactly and the date of those docs. Why Jerice has a bag of used latex gloves layin round and if they were used in the cleanup?

Whose birth certificate was sh trying to obtain? Wonder if she was trying to apply for aid with Jhessye as a dependent.

Pray that some of the evidence they took is useful in putting this woman in jail soon
