Police suspect foul play in disappearance of Phoenix woman

Julie Concialdi, 59, was last seen at her Phoenix home in the area of 27th Avenue and Dove Valley Road around 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4.

That same night, her car was found abandoned in the area of 20th Avenue and Monona Drive. Police say the car was damaged by fire, which they believe indicates possible foul play.

Police say Concialdi was last seen at her home near 27th Avenue and Dove Valley Road around 7 p.m. on September 4, 2020.

Her vehicle was reportedly found later that night near 20th Avenue and Monona Drive. Police confirmed Thursday that the vehicle had been burned. People who work nearby told ABC15 there was a vehicle that caught fire around 11 p.m.

A man who works nearby told ABC15 the vehicle was engulfed in flames. The location where the vehicle was found and Concialdi's listed address are roughly nine miles apart.

Concialdi is described as 5’01”, 130 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. It’s unclear what clothing she was wearing at the time of her disappearance.

Police release video from night Phoenix woman went missing | 12news.com

Julie Concialdi went missing on Friday Sept. 4. Her vehicle was found abandoned on fire near 20th Avenue and Monona Drive.

No one was inside the vehicle after firefighters put out the fire.

Investigators released surveillance video from the night of Sept. 4, where a loud explosion is heard and light is seen coming from the explosion. The actual car fire is not captured in the video.

PD responded to a vehicle fire on Sept. 4th and found it was hers. They could not locate her to inform her of the fire.

Two days later, Sept 6, family reported her missing.

Also on Friday, Phoenix police gave new insight into the timeline, while also confirming a search warrant has been served on the home.

According to police, Concialdi was reportedly last seen Friday. A combination of her husband and other family members reported her missing on Sunday.

Phoenix police have not publicly named anyone as a suspect or person of interest in the case.

"That's part of these very complex cases," Sgt. Fortune said. "We have not located Julie. We don't know enough to say that we have a person of interest. We want to make sure Julie is safe, we are hoping to find her."

When police called Concialdi to inform her about the truck, she didn't answer. Two days later, her family reported her missing. FOX 10 has since obtained photo and video of the car, as well as an explosion involving the car.

I think we need to ask Justin Lum to clarify. I didn’t read your quoted material with this article because I listened to the report. But interestingly, they differ somewhat. Justin was reporting live from the police station. Based on his thorough and precise reporting on the vallow -daybell case, I tend to believe his words.

The news article says:
When police called Concialdi to inform her about the truck, she didn't answer.

But Justin says at about 1 minute in .. “police went to her home, just about 8 miles away. They made no contact with anyone there. Then two days later police say she is reported missing by her adult kids.”

......................

So, that says a lot if you ask me. But also, it is concerning to me. Did police ever reach out again during those two days? A burning car and for two days, no contact with owner until her kids report her missing?
