Distinguishing Characteristics: He has an oval-shaped burn scar on his lower leg and a scar on his right ankle. He may have fractured his right leg and right arm, and has a lump on his forehead from a childhood injury.

Details of Disappearance: Stenholt was last seen sometime in approximately 1978. He was in New York at the time, but is believed to have traveled to Phoenix, Arizona afterwards. He has never been heard from again. Phoenix police are investigating his case.

I can find little about him. I did find a blog where it's theorized that the Putnam County John Doe could be Roger Stenholt. The man was found in 1979 in a filled coal car underneath the coal. I think the John Doe is shorter than Roger.

This is an interesting possibility. A few stats are off but I do see a resemblance! Even in the hairline. I think this would be worth submitting!

Ancestry has multiple records for a Roger J Stenholt living in Phoenix up to 2011 at 2849 E Grandview Rd, Apt 103 and with a previous address in Destin Florida. I cannot find any records for another Roger J Stenholt. It would be odd if the authorities had not checked these records but who knows. It may be related to the missing man or not.
