This case is really sad and interesting, but I thought it was a possibility. It says the child's hair is blonde, but it looks brown in some of the pictures and could have darkened.

Also, these are stretches, but you never know:

Could they extract DNA from her teeth?

There is a whole thread on Anna Waters.

The information says brown hair, long brown hair, to be exact. I think out of these, Michelle is likely. Such a heart breaking story.

According to Namus, DNA has finally been submitted for this jane doe. Namus last update is January 7, 2010.

https://identifyus.org/cases/full_report/2074

Also, the namus report indicates 7" long hair. 7" isn't very long, imo.

praying for a match so this precious child can finally get her name back!

According to Namus the following have been ruled out.

Michelle Pulsifer
Kathleen Shea

(exclusions listed in two different places at Namus)

Maybe the newspapers are from the year she was born? The Namus says estimated posmortum interval 1 year. Does that mean she had been deceased aprox 1 year? 1966 would not make sense if it was 1 year. It's strange that the papers are from June and Dec. I wonder what was in the paper.

I found a myspace for this doe. It says the newspapers was the Arizona Republic, dates 6-6-66 and 10-2-66. I wonder if this news paper is on google archives? I will have to look.

Here are some other possibilities if she died in the 70's

http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/1208dfut.html Jennifer Klein (Utah which is near AZ)

http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/2875dfny.html Julie Ann Guthrie (NY, she was 6 though)

http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/326dfvt.html Grace Reapp (VT)

http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/134dfny.html Alice Periera (NY)

http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/2399dfok.html Judith Elwell (OK)

Jennifer has DNA

Julie Ann Guthrie is an automatic rule out based on dentals. The Little Jane Doe had all her baby teeth.

I think Grace and Alice are located too far geographcially for someone to drive clear across the country to dispose of a body.

I don't know that Judith Elwell has DNA. Will have to do some more digging on that one.

I did a quick search. No where could I find that Judith's DNA is in codis. There is a semi recent article/blog article from 2007. Since this thread is not about Judith, if I can't find one for her here at WS, I will start one in the missing but not forgotten forum. I don't want to get off topic discussing Judith here.

Here are two more that I don't think have been mentioned.

Here are a couple of two-year olds if you want to go on the theory that the child wasn't killed immediately after disappearance.

Pardon me if I repeated any. Some of the DoeNet Links are inoperable, so it is difficult to cross check my list to the previously mentioned.

BTW, for this reason, when posting a link of a possible, please indicate the name of the person in the body of the message to facilitate easy cross-checking.

One of the articles linked earlier in this thread indicate that the area was frequented by transients...I have to wonder if this means (or includes) migrant workers. The article further states that the girl is "most likely" caucasian, so I don't think an Hispanic origin has been ruled out.

Online articles I've found (including those at Wikipedia) indicate that the Salt River is usually dry, but has a tendency to flood at times---Washing away bridges and other structures (1980 is mentioned as a flood year). I find it highly unlikely that the grave would have survived a raging flood, so wouldn't this information help to narrow the time frame in which the girl could have been buried?

The old doenetwork links have to be changed from .us to .org. Doe used to be a .us site. They will work if changed to .org

I don't know what area's of the salt river are dry. I do know salt river has tubing in the Phx area from May through the end of September. Articles indicate the river is sometimes dry and there is little 'whitewater' except at times of dam release. There are tons of dry river and creek beds all over the Phx area. I think a semi buried grave site might have some protection due to the ground being so dry. When it does rain the water moves swiftly and doesn't have much time to soften and penetrate the ground. I imagine something a few inches below the ground has a relatively good chance of staying dry during flash flood periods.
