PHOENIX - The Phoenix Police Department is serving a search warrant at a Tempe home in relation to a 25-year-old missing persons investigation.

Vernette Wester disappeared on November 22, 1985 while out running errands for the holiday. She was never heard from or seen again.

Wester left behind siblings, friends, co-workers and five children, the youngest of which was eight-years-old at the time of the disappearance.

The Tempe home, near West Howe Street and Judd Street, where today's search warrant is being served was the last known location where Wester was seen. Her car was also found a few blocks away and recent developments gave cause for the warrant to be issued.

Phoenix police do believe foul play is suspected in her disappearance.

Its probably naive to think that she is alive and walked away from 5 children, but I am keeping my fingers crossed. I hope that the family can finally get some answers and that Vernette's resting place can be near her family and friends.

The first picture is from the last article, the second is from http://phoenix.gov/police/missing_list.html Phoenix Missing Persons.

Then I found this http://azmediavision.blogspot.com/2010/08/missing-person-investigation.html. Most of the information is the same except it list the address of the Tempe residence that is being searched, 1024 S PARKSIDE DR. It appears that it was written by Sergeant Trent Crump of PPD and sent via his Blackberry. He also said that her would be out there for an hour or so for questions.

The article I originally posted has been updated:

Wester's five children are cooperating fully with the investigation into their mother's disappearance.
They have been estranged from their father, Wester's husband at the time of her disappearance, who police believe is a person of interest in her disappearance.
Coincidentally, a detective on scene told 3TV the husband of Wester at the time of her disappearance is the grandfather of a young man who at the time of his arrest confessed to a string of killings in the St. Johns, Ariz. area in late 2009.

Here is an article about the grandson mentioned:
ST JOHNS - A man from Springville confessed to killing three people after being arrested for the murder of a St. Johns teen.
Apache County Attorney Michael Whiting tells 3TV’s Mike Watkiss that William Inmon appears to be one of the youngest serial killers in American history. He told police he killed one man because the victim shot his dog. He reportedly sai he did not want the second victim to hurt anyone so he killed him. Inmon also says he wanted to get 16-year-old Ricky Flores off of drugs but was not able to....

Bump. Does anyone know if the approx. ages of Vernette's 5 kids when she went missing? I wonder if any of them could have gone to high school with accused serial killer Todd Kohlhepp (He went to McClintock High in Tempe, AZ and he lived about 3 miles from the Wester home).

It was the husband the cops and her kids have even said he made incriminating statements.
