Baez Lashes out at Investigators-UPDATE Allegations of Evidence Tampering

I love the way he capitalized the Casey Anthony Defense Team - they're the CADs!

And the 'Media Circus', like it's a Vegas show.

Guess Jose doesn't have anything better to do, since he can't come up with a new defense until he finds out what it is he's defending against.

All he has to do is go over to the jail and ask Casey. The problem isn't the crime scene investigators, it's his client!!

I just don't get the Defense Team.

May I please point out, this is not an unusual case. There are plenty of cases where the perp was in jail on murder charges before the victim was found. This mistruth must end. Baez needs to go look up some case law and stop this. The Judge knows this the prosecution knows this, all of LE know this. The media, maybe not as much just spinning. He would become a witness if he were allowed at the scene before it is complete, as every member of the teams there are. He could not continue to represent the perp for that reason.

dont really know what to say

all i can say is.......go back to LAW SCHOOL

A vigorous defense-this is what JB thinks he is doing perhaps. I listened to a former judge on WESH I believe, on the day they had discovered the body. He answered questions from the reporters on whether or not the defense attorney wants to know if his client did the deed....IIRC, he said that a good defense attorney does NOT want to know the whole story if the defendant will be testifying. The reason is that he/she will have a huge ethical dilemna if the defendant testifies under oath to anything other than what the attorney knows to be the truth as told by the defendant. For example, if Casey told Jose she killed Caylee in a fit of rage, and then she testifies that it was an accident. Jose is on the hook for the perjury....He said most defense attorneys will say "Based on what LE is saying I can offer you these three defenses-a mental defect defense, an Im not guilty defense or someone else did it defense." Then through the discovery process they try to fit the evidence to the chosen defense strategy.

I suddenly "got it" why many defendants do not testify.

And you do it with ease!

Isn't this about a child body that is scattered over an acre? If this is Caylee, then wouldn't everyone like to be sure that she is put to rest with all her poor little bones. This would include JB and the Anthonys.

i believe judge strickland called Baez's tactics regarding premature access to the crime scene "interfering with a murder investigation".
Baez knows he can't win in a court of law so he's now taking it to the court of public opinion. i don't think he'll win there either.

Matter of fact, the Judge told him that twice, at each emergency hearing.
IIFC he said it would be "folly" to grant his request. Second hearing was basically a repeat of the first, and was just him whining like a little kid whining to Mommy at the grocery store for a candy bar at the check out.

To JB, this isn't about Caylee... this is about evidence being gathered against his client and his being unable to get to the crime scene and contaminate it before LE is finished with it...

Poor baby... he needs a wittle nappy....

Here is my favorite line in the article:

Every effort by The Baez Law Firm to establish a level of basic cooperation and professional courtesy have all been rejected by the government. This lack of cooperation has complicated how to proceed.

No, you made ZERO effort to establish ANY level of basic cooperation during the past 5 months. Now you think everyone should bow to you? Go to law school Baez, it's obvious while you were there the first time, you learned nothing.

I'm adding my own,

tee hee......

**cracking up** now add the little pinky to the corner of your mouth and say "tee hee", lol!

I totally agree with this. Poor little JB. Can't investigate a murder scene and thinks that somehow he is entitled to that. I don't think anyone has ever heard of such a thing. LE investigates murders. Not defense attorneys. boo hoo and all that....

No surprise - just more of what I already posted on another thread: trying to poison the future jury pool into thinking that they have some "right" to be there.

These experts who are behaving this way, along with J Baez and his crew, are simply trying to sway the FUTURE JURORS who may be watching any video or news reports of these events into THINKING that they, J Baez and his crew, SHOULD HAVE been allowed access, ergo possibly getting them a leg up with the future jurors.

Not that I think it will help (cause I don't, since the nation is watching the events and proceedings and likely knows what the judge ruled) but I guarantee you this is why they are acting this way. ITA it's unprofessional, to say the least, since J Baez, for one, knows darn well he'd never be able to get any such argument/testimony in front of the future jury (Judge S would shut that down IMMEDIATELY in light of his rulings DENYING any such access!)

No kidding, it would be so much better for him to not fight so hard, makes his Caylee was kidnapped and we dont know who or where she is theory go up in smoke. He should not be showing his concern about this area at all right now...:bang:

  :woohoo:

You think Baez is mad now? Just wait until the FBI and forensics team releases that piece of "private" property back to the rightful owners, and the owners post no trespassing signs all over the place. Now that's going to really make Baez:furious:

I agree with you Truthwillsetyoufree! This case is going to ruin him. Look at Stephen F, David Westerfield's attorney. He's a nobody here in San Diego. That case took him down.

I was reading so fast I thought it said.....is a Mad Cow...oh my
I wouldnt think a private property owner would be obligated to allow access to his team after LE is done with it.

He is freaking out .... imo...because Casey wont tell him anything, and anything he knows has come from the media, after investigators found it out....oh well!!! moo

Cindy, George, and the defense all claimed for weeks and weeks when the car and evidence was being processed that "it doesn't take this long for DNA to come back.......so they must not have anything!!!"

Wonder what the big rush is to get on that crime scene? They don't even know that it's Caylee yet. I hope the owner of that "private" property puts up a huge fence, and posts a bunch of no trespassing signs everywhere the minute LE leaves the scene. Baez will flip!!!!

Question: will the crime scene be turned over to the defense? or to the property owner? It seems to me that legally it has to be turned over to the property owner, and the Defense Team needs permission from the property owner to go there.

TIA
