A mother has made a heartfelt plea for her missing son to get in touch.

6ft 4ins tall Ben Prince has not been seen since he left work in Derby on Wednesday, May 5, said his mum Amanda Dickinson.

Ms Dickinson said: "His family and friends are all just missing him. We just want Ben to get in touch with his family or let us know he's ok."

There have been no sightings of the 25-year-old, of Littleover, since Wednesday, and police are growing increasingly concerned for his safety.

Derbyshire police have released an image of him in an effort to try and find him.

Ben is described as slim with short, dark ginger hair.

[Link contains live CCTV footage of Ben on bicycle]

Derbyshire Police (@DerbysPolice) tweeted at 3:54 pm on Sun, May 16, 2021:

We're urging people in the #Littleover area of #Derby to check any CCTV or dashcam footage to help us search for missing 25-year-old Ben Prince. Ben was last seen on Austen Avenue around 7am on Friday 7 May. We don't know where he goes next. Read more: Footage of Ben Prince released in latest appeal to find missing man https://t.co/cmGTMUosWb

This might be likely. While scouring the web for updates, I found an additional plea for a missing Ben Prince (with pictures) from a family member, dated 25 October 2020.

That's the Bristol BP isn't it? I saw that earlier but wasn't sure if same person. Might indicate a troubled soul with mental health issues if this is recurrent, and missing for 12 days almost doesn't bode well.

Edit: Think it must be same as same family name.

This is quite a confusing case.

Reported missing by his mother from his home in Littleover (on Ascot Drive?) on Wednesday 5th May, yet seen cycling on CCTV on Austen Avenue at 7am on Friday 7th May, still in Littleover a mere 3 miles away, and his police report seems to have been filed on Sunday 9th May. It’s variously stated that he went missing going to work or after leaving work. Ascot Drive seems a non-residential industrial road so I think he worked there rather than lived there. Littleover is a small place; a village / suburb with under 25k residents.

The police have asked people to look out for temporary structures so I’m guessing they have reason to think he’d be sleeping rough off-grid. His uncle refers to Ben as a vulnerable person and he’s gone missing before. Hope he’s found soon and that he can find peace.

Ben was last seen cycling along Austen Avenue, around 7am on Friday, May 7, but it is not known where he went after this time.

The 25-year-old was reported missing from his home in Littleover on Wednesday, May 5 and officers have put out a number of different images of Ben, including the backpack and coat he may be wearing.

Hi,
I am bens sister and noticed his story on this forum and just wanted to comment.
Thank you to those who shared concerns and wishes for him to return home to us safely.
Unfortunately ben was not able to come home to us and he will always be missed immensely.
Words cannot describe the pain we are feeling as a family but remembering ben and what a kind, intellectual, caring, compassionate and beautiful soul he was is all we can now do to honour his memory and character.
Ben was such a pure soul with the biggest heart but his mind would not allow him any rest or peace and all we hope and pray is that he is now able to rest.
There are too many people suffering in this world particularly with mental health and its so important that everyone feels they have someone, anyone they can turn and talk to for support.
Please be kind and caring if nothing else in this life and one day we may all be able to see the rewards and benefits of this.
Thank you x

He was obviously a very much loved, but troubled soul. So terribly sad for you and the rest of the family. But he is at peace now and free of his demons. We didn't know him but wish we could have had a happier ending.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I agree, issues with mental health are so cruel. People do not understand what mental illness can do to the sufferer, their family, their friends. Hugs and love to you and your family
