A 26-year-old man from Wigan has been reported as missing while on holiday in Majorca. Benjamin Ross, from Golborne, has not been heard from since speaking to his mum on July 10.

Ben, who had travelled to the Spanish island in June to visit a friend before deciding to extend his stay and moving into a temporary rental after finding a local job, last spoke to his mum Felix almost a week ago.

Ben had journeyed to Majorca in June to see a friend. After securing a local job, he decided to prolong his visit and moved into a temporary rental.

Felix mentioned that they were trying to organise a bank transfer for Ben after he had his phone, passport, keys and wallet stolen while taking a dip at the beach, reports the Manchester Evening News.

She urged anyone with information about her son's location to come forward. "Like any mother, no matter what age your children are, they are still your children", Felix expressed.

"I just need to know my son is safe and well. The past few days have been agonising. Please, if anyone has seen Ben, even if it's just for a moment, inform the authorities. We need to find him."

The Foreign Office is providing support to Ben's family and are 'in contact with local authorities'. A representative for the department stated: "We are supporting the family of a British man reported missing in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities."

Felix revealed that she has been liaising with LBT Global, the international charity assisting the family of Jay Slater, and is arranging to travel to Majorca in the next few days

Thanks for that info. I was doubting the theft situation, thinking it was a scam story (not by Ben, but by someone else). But it looks like he actually was robbed.

If he had a job and an apartment then he is not a tourist but an immigrant.
It sounds mental health related, but still it would be interesting to know who was the last person to see him alive and what the flatmates have to say.
