Sadly, I think you may be right and the thought of that infuriates me to no end. Jurors are not to consider punishment when deciding the verdict in the guilt phase of the trial.

If they want to think that way then they should think about the decade of freedom he has been given before this trial began.

Like I mentioned the other day there have been many criminal defendants over the years brought to trial in their 70s and 80s. Thank goodness those juries looked only at the criminal acts and the evidence that showed them to be guilty and they were sentenced appropriately.

But after all this is BC and he has really played up his act to the hilt of being old and fragile. Yet according to him he is sure well enough to return to comedy. I guess if he skates he can make fun of rape victims.

It does make me wonder if he knew all along there were stealth jurors since he was arrogantly convinced he would skate all along.

DecadeS plural of freedom.

MSNBC (TV) just reported the jury is deadlocked --- judge sent them back to deliberate "one more time"

Darned links come out as a video??? these are both from CNN.com (fixed that!)

Deadlocked:

Judge gives Allen charge. what happens now?

After further deliberations, jurors could still return a unanimous verdict. There are three possibilities:

 • Guilty on all counts.
 • Not guilty on all counts.
 • Mixed verdict, finding guilty on some but not guilty on others.

Or could end in a mistrial

Juror's in deadlock, Judge orders them to keep trying, Defense ask for mistrial..denied!! Jurors tired and frustrated. "They're conflicted about the inconsistencies in Ms. Constand's testimony," spokesman Andrew Wyatt said. "And they're hearing Mr. C.'s testimony and he's extremely truthful. And that's created this doubt

OMG I puke at them. He is truthful in saying he got pills to drug women, so you will acquit him? Nice. Why don't you all then introduce him to your 14 year old daughters?

Sure, jurors aren't suppose to consider the sentence during the guilt phase but I feel that that is exactly what they are doing and I agree that BC has been acting very arrogant and not really concerned that he will be found not guilty. Nothing surprises me anymore where juries are concerned.

Leave it to the jurors who heard and saw the evidence and witnesses. If they can not come to a verdict, then that is what we have to accept for now. I suggest that there are more than 2 jurors who are in opposition to the rest. I think it is 9/3 or 8/4 and this is why there is no verdict. 10/2 and it would be over. Usually it does not have to be a 12/0 vote.

Ironic that some who call him "The Father of Television" (and things similar such as "TV's Dad", etc) that it's Father's Day weekend upcoming. If the jury is still deadlocked after the judge's order to try again, each should be given an ugly sweater.

I was thinking exactly the same thing when I read that.
He is truthful alright. He admitted to buying scripts to give to woman and not himself so he could have his way with them. Wake up Jury!

Cosby Trial: Deadlocked Jury Requests Definition of Reasonable Doubt

by Hannah Rappleye and Tracy Connor

NORRISTOWN, Pa. — The deadlocked jury in Bill Cosby’s sexual assault trial, after deliberating for an extraordinary 41 hours, asked Friday for the judge to explain “reasonable doubt.”

The request for the definition of the bedrock legal principle, which the judge outlined before the panel got the case Monday, raised the question of whether some jurors are hoping to convince one or more others that any doubt they have expressed is unreasonable...

At least the jury is continuing to work together towards a verdict. Maybe there's still a ray of hope that they can come to a unanimous decision :praying:

On all the trials I've served on the vote had to be unanimous for all 12 jurors.

This is interestingly worrisome. Perhaps the jury is trying to find one bit of "reasonable doubt" with which to reach a verdict they all agree upon.

This doesn't sound good. "reasonable doubt" is is reasonable doubt the accused is guilty so I just hope the jury are confused about that term, but it's pretty basic.
Hope when they rehear his deposition that helps them come to the proper decision - unanimously.

Just heard on HLN that judge has cleared the courtroom? Awaiting a statement from the judge. Don't know anything else.
