I believe the officer was trying to do the right thing but ultimately made a fatal mistake. I think he continued shooting because he believed that the man he shot was holding the knife and therefore still a danger to the woman. I have to say the first time I watched the video I only saw Brandon's hands on the knife. It wasn't until I slowed it down that I saw they were both holding it.

I hear you but I think he reacted with no critical thinking... Why would the homeowner be wearing a hood and the intruder be in their underwear? He gave a command but didn't wait for a response.
I believe he was scared. It's a very hard job and that was also a very hard situation but he shot him in the head first thing.

It's not another man, the person in the red hoodie is a woman and was his girlfriend.

As Officer Alexander Bookman and two others responded, they saw damaged cars and windows and heard screaming and banging from inside Durham’s home. Bookman then kicked in Durham’s front door and, once inside, found Durham and Alejandra Boudreaux, 31, wrestling over a knife in a bedroom doorway, according to Koren.

Police said they believed a domestic relationship existed between Durham and Boudreaux but Koren did not offer more details.

This will be a doozy to untangle. This is so very sad for everyone.
IMO, it's gonna be nearly impossible to have this thing settle so that things will be smoothed-out to please everyone.
SMH.

Boudreaux was arrested on several felony charges including home invasion and assault with a deadly weapon. Wolfson adds that this office is considering whether additional felony charges could be filed against Boudreaux.

Boudreaux was scheduled to appear in court on Monday morning but refused to be transported from jail. Judge Amy Wilson issued an order that she be brought to court next week "by any means necessary."

I looked and looked, thought I might have seen it afterwards on the floor, then decided it was a shadow. I could never manage to see him pull anything out of his jacket or use his left hand (but I am Old so...).
Nope, I'm on a 26" computer screen - don't see that at all.

Ok, my mistake. Fixed now.
