I thought he DIDN'T bring her to the house, instead left her in a field?

Interesting...so he's saying he brought mickey to his house in his truck and left her there while he nursed his wounds. ugh. There are no words for him.

BBM...Actually there are words for him, and I have used them all, but if I use them here, they will most likely earn me a vacation from posting.

I sense yet another round of heated discussion here tonight...So, before you all get me wrapped up in YOUR words, please allow ME a few brief words of my own. (If not...KOSD, 'keep on scrollin down').

I think tonight of the men/women who traveled out that August morning, to that isolated, lonely cemetary. A task set before them... to retreive Mickey. The anticipation on the drive there, the angst as the task began, then...uummpphh. A body.

I salute these men/women of service. Who perform tasks, such as these, that most of us would not fathom. Certainly not each and every day on the job...but August 7, 2012 will forever ring vivid in their memory.

And then...they end their day...return home, kiss the wife/hubby and kids, maybe cut the grass, put a steak on the grill, listen to James Taylor...

A personal thank you to all law enforcement, tasks forces, forensic scientists, coroner's office...I pray for you guys tonight.

Oh...I love those Lafayette firefighters, too! Big, big!

I will try to look back and see the exact date but I do remember him saying on the other site when he originally called them and was waiting to hear back from detective

Correct me if I am wrong, but the car salesperson's tip on June 14, 2012, clued LPD in of the burning of his truck in Texas, as well as his attempt to hide his RSO status...

I find myself wondering if that was the intention when BSL reached the cane field -- he'd intended on doing what he originally wanted, and she realized it, so stabbed him again. Or, perhaps, she thought that was what he had in mind?

A little tiny voice in my head says "if only she'd continued to play dead, maybe he'd have left her in the field and she could have escaped," even though I know that's horribly unlikely. I don't for a minute believe that he told the whole truth, that he left out his motives or actions or words to make it appear more self-serving, but this is something I wish I knew for certain.

Is anyone else here planning on going to the memorial service for the public? I'd love to not go alone if I can help it.

I think (and maybe I choose to think) that maybe she already knew the extent of her injuries and her final attack against him was more along the lines of "if I'm going down, you're going to go right along with me". I'd like to believe she was that fierce.

Imo, Mighty Mick is continuing to fiercely fight for the unknown victims..
Mickey Shunick knew what Brandon Scott Lavergne, was, what he had done in the past, what his intentions were the night of 05/19/2012, and what he would do in the future..

Adam is a post something and delete kind of guy.... good thing I copied it.. lol
He said something of this nature...

The stabbing story BSL told TD and family on the 20th got him digging on him. Found out about the RSO report and found out about the original oral sexual battery case details.
They posted the pic of his truck on the news and it got him going big time. Told his wife and she called him crazy about a billion times. Started talking to his Father in Law about everyhting and got him involved. FIL and TD dug for about another 6-7 days and found an alarming amount of stuff that was too crazy to just be "coincidences." The day the bike was found prompted TD to call a friend who is a detective with LPD with suspicitions. Didn't hear anything back for almost an entire week.
We saw temp tags in his truck window with 4 brand new tires in his bed. That's when TD really blew up his phone. He called back and told TD that they were just now starting to look at him as a suspect and were getting "serious" about him. The rest is history.

Before that first call though..he wasn't even on their radar.

His original intent for digging on him was to find enough proof to show his sister in law that he was a fraud and an evil dude.

I am glad the Shunicks no longer have to wonder where Mickey is. I'm glad tax dollars don't have to pay for 3 to 4 years of trial preparation and have this put in the hands of a jury that will do who knows what with it. I'm glad BSL is in prison for the rest of his life.

But I'm not buying BSL's one-sided version of events for one second. I think he was looking for a victim. I think he is an evil monster. I think he had the grave dug ahead of time, and had the open grave covered with sticks and leaves. He knew he was going to kill and his past experience(s) taught him how important it is to get rid of the body and other evidence as soon as possible. I don't think it is likely he could have dug a deep grave with his hand injury. Think about it; that night he was calling around to escort services looking for someone, his next victim. I also am not buying the part about him taking Mickey's pulse. That was a "yeah, right" moment for me.

I agree, sayd..
BSL would also have had a Rape kit on hand..Imo, BSL was an organized predator.
Imo, Mickey was chosen due his inability to connect with a prostitute; known as the less dead..due to their lifestyles and transient nature. Investigations are less than adequate in many of their cases.

RE: Think about it; that night he was calling around to escort services looking for someone, his next victim.

Imo, word had got around & BSL had earned a reputation in the call girl community. Word was out to avoid BS Lavergne. Just a hunch..

I keep finding myself thinking "what if...", as I'm sure many of you do regarding this case.

One looming question I keep asking myself, WHY did Mickey not turn before Dean? Did he suddenly accelerate and she thought perhaps before that time he was going to one of the residences? Surely at that hour, following her from at least University (?) she had to have had her guard up...

I don't know the area well enough, is Blackham well lit at night? Is it unsafe to cut over to Johnson? I just wonder why she may not have turned somewhere with more residences, even if it meant circling over her tracks until the truck went elsewhere.. just in case.

BSL, also cleaned the truck of blood & body fluids at his residence. Imo, he would have done this near his shed in the rear. The residue is prolly what attracted the vulchers/buzzards & may have convinced LPD of Mickeys demise.
The cadaver K9s would have indicated where he cleaned the truck..imo

Makes sense.Thank you for clarifying.

This makes sense to me! I have wondered if he had been able to meet up with an escort, if she would have been the victim. I think so.

What kind of gun did he have? It makes me sick to think about it so I am gonna ask it this way: if I took that kind of gun and shot thru the passinger seat toward the back of my car, how far would the bullet travel? Could it exit a window? Or would it lodge in the upholstery?

I just got a message back from the Hope for Ali facebook page saying that they are going to ask Mr. Mac to check in over here. I hope these key people have had a chance to connect!

GarryB and Txmomof5 .. thoughts and prayers to you and family.

"Thank you txmomof5 & Thank bn too"! Although we don't know if BSL was involved. Maybe she will provide that missing char to the shattered vase for the
Alexxandria "Ali" Lowitzer family..

fotobug, ann rule, describes in detail how the plea negotiations were conducted in the green river case which also had multiple victims.

thanks for the tip on the grk book. Read the intro and sounds like a scary read. Haven't read any of ann rule's books, so i'll have to get it. Need to pace myself with this sleuthing.

I don't know if this has been talked about yet and I'm sorry if it has. Still haven't caught up on the post from the entire weekend.

Okay I blew up the image of Brandon walking to the courthouse the other day because it looked like something was inside his left hand. Can someone enlighten me on this. It almost looks like the index finger is cut off from the last knuckle down and some sort of blue/grey overgrowth, not sure. Maybe some of you can explain this to me that might know more as I have been unable to follow along the last few days.

Garryb, thank you for answering so many unanswered questions for all of us.

Looks like he is holding the chain he is shackled with

Typed out a very long reply that just vanished.LOL

Ann Rule is X law Enforcement and focuses on the victims.
She was privy to the investigation files of Green River.
Ridgeway actually attended her book signings & seminars, yet never purchased a book.
He was monitoring the investigation and perfecting his craft.
GR would go to the airport & pick up cigarette butts to place near his victims remains to misdirect investigators(indicating a traveler).
Although his IQ was only 82, LE thought he was idiot savant. Imo, he honed his skills for decades(as did BSL, imo) due to the magnitude; victim total. There were thousands of POIs & Suspects in the GR investigation for two decades. He was arrested 11/2001 due to upgrades in DNA technology which was available 5 years prior...sad..
