Probably just like other Country Clubs...people rent rooms for wedding receptions, bar mitvahs, graduations, holiday parties etc. There is often in-house catering/rentals but some sites allow outside catering, rental suppliers, entertainment etc.

Probably, this is the type of room rentals provided at the club.

Oops, never mind, I see they rent roooms like a bed and breakfast might.

Lattingtown is just north of Locust Valley, NY on the North Shore of Long Island. It is very upscale community. The picture was taken from the veranda of the Lattingtown Beach House which is only for the use of residents around the area. I was a guest at that time. Nearby is the beach for The Creek Club and further out is the beach for the Piping Rock Club. They are both private country clubs.

Unless you live in Locust Valley or the neighboring towns, you probably have not heard of Lattingtown. Much less Lattingtown Beach. The only reason I know it is because my late mother-in-law was a member of the Piping Rock Club and she used to take us there for lunch in the summertime. I would consider it a very private, exclusive beach. I heard the late Duke and Duchess of Windsor (Wallis Simpson) were guests there many years ago.

Pig Charm Photo Sent to Local Korean Newspapers in L.I. Skeleton ID Quest

Yes, I would say it's a bold move to bury a body here without someone noticing. I think the person that chose this location had to have some knowledge of the area. I don't know exactly where the bag containing the body was found, but there is an adjacent public parking lot to the right of Sheep Lane at the end. You can see it on Google Maps. Sheep Lane doesn't connect to that parking lot via a roadway, although you can walk to it. Police patrol that parking lot frequently at night. The same way you enter is the same way you get out. My feeling is this person is a risk-taker since I don't consider this location ideal for foul play. There are no major highways to disappear on to, and the neighborhood is very hard to navigate at night if you're not familiar with it. Since Sandy, West Shore Road has been closed, leaving only one way out of the general area. Apart from that, I'm also getting the feeling that the pig necklace is a ruse, although I have no information to back that up. It's just a gut feeling.

Would it feel like an isolated spot to someone who isn't familiar to the area and is just driving around looking for a place to hide a body?

I'm starting to really doubt whether this is related. It sounds to me like she was probably murdered and buried by her husband or boyfriend.

If it turns out the bag was burlap, or something, that would change my view, but it just doesn't seem that similar to the other LISK murders. Mountain Kat's analysis pretty much agreed with my opinions.

One thing I've learned is that Indian gold looks very different from the gold we are used to here in the states. It is a MUCH darker color, and appears to be much softer. Ever see something that is painted with gold paint? It looks alot like that. If the killer intentionally left the necklace, he probably thought it was cheap jewelry, imo.

Now that fact that we are looking at a necklace that is made of Indian gold doesn't neccesarily mean our victim is Indian or Asian, or that she was born in the year of the pig. There are a number of possibilities. Perhaps she was white and the necklace was a gift from someone of Asian or Indian descent. Perhaps she's a pig collector, or perhaps the necklace even belongs to her killer, and was lost while he was bagging the remains or digging the hole (I'm not clear if the necklace was found in the bag or out of the bag). What I don't believe is that the killer placed this necklace with the remains as some sort of "calling card". JMO

Anyway, I have a few more questions for you (sorry to be a pest). Do you know the name of the nearby horse farm? Do you know of any strip clubs in this immediate area? And do you recall any actual news accounts of other bodies being discovered in this area (as the plumber stated)?

There are 2 horse farms that I pass when I ride my bike. I know who owns one of them, not sure about the other. There are no strip clubs in the immediate area that I know of, unless they are underground clubs. A strip club would never get approved by the governing bodies in these small towns or villages. I don't even know of any in Glen Cove, which is a neighboring town. I also don't recall any actual accounts of bodies being found in this area. These are small towns where everyone knows each other, or is related in some way. We all talk and news about something like that would be hard to suppress. That's why I was very skeptical when the plumber made that comment to me.

When I searched "Lattingtown meetups," 90% of the listings came up for Locust Valley...and when I just searched "Lattingtown," the same was true...almost all the listings were for Locust Valley.

Lattingtown doesn't have its own zip code (or Post Office). Many Lattingtown residents sometimes use a Locust Valley address.

I doubt that anyone driving around looking for a place to hide a body would even know about this area. It is so "off the beaten path" -- that's why I'm convinced this person had prior knowledge of the area. They may have done work here, or made a delivery, took note that is was desolate at night and returned to dispose of the body. I say this with the limited amount of knowledge I have about the case.

I did notice Blink Entertainment in Locust Valley, which I assumed was fairly close, but google earth brought me to a house when I typed in the address. Of course, we all know that google earth is notorious for address inaccuracy. I tried streetview, but stops up that street, so I can't even take a look around for something that looks like it might be Blink. I tried to find info on Blink a few days ago, but didn't have alot of time to spend sleuthing. Maybe I'll jump back into that this afternoon.

If any locals can offer anything on Blink Entertainment, please do!

I did however google the (212) phone number on the website and noticed a lot of references to exotic dancers. When I looked at google images under the same search, a picture of the Tides Motel came up. The Tides is within walking distance of where the body was found. Interesting, but not sure it's relevant. I also tried to see who owned the website but it is registered under Domains by Proxy, which conceals the ID of the owner.

480 Forest Avenue is not what you think it is.

The building is the mailing address for a virtual office company-

Locust Valley Executive Center

For $79 anyone can have all sorts of office services through the virtual office company Davinci. The services include the use of that address to make it look like that is where the business is being run from.

As far as I can tell, Blink Entertainment is far from being in the adult entertainment business. The business is an LLC (Limited Liability Company). From what I have been learning about LLC's, they all use their attorney's office as their legal mailing address. As far as Blink goes, the owner of that company has a brother who is an attorney who uses the virtual office services of Davinci at that address in Locust Valley.

Most likely this business name is a dead-end (nothing more than a business being incorrectly classified by a business directory website and then that classification being duplicated among over websites). But the address may be something of interest. Those virtual office companies are the modern evolution of the classic mailbox services companies. They take it to the next level. It is the exact way you would expect an escort agency or a stripper service to set up their business. It allows anyone to use that alternate address for their business address to conceal their true location. That could be the reason for Blink being classified as an adult entertainment company.

Possibly the correct industry using that address. Just the wrong company name.

We have been focusing on finding the victim assuming that the pig pendant was hers. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure that I read that the necklace was found NEAR her remains. If she was in a bag, the necklace would also be in the bag.

Maybe we should start to look at this from the angle that it belonged to her killer, who may have dropped it while disposing of the body. If this is the case, then maybe we have a perp. who was Asian and born under the sign of the pig? Or a perp. that took a necklace from a prior victim as a suvonier, or just has an affinity for pigs.

Then again the owner of the necklace may be unrelated, and just happened to lose the necklace near the spot the body was found.

I just think we should entertain other possibilities than just the theory of the necklace belonging to the victim.

Let's not get confused here. 480 Forest Avenue is, as shown previously, an old, 2-story detached home. The ad for Locust Valley Executive Center, claiming that same address...

...shows a photo of a building that is down the block from that house. It should be, roughly, 179 Locust Avenue, and the sign outside that says "Forest Executive Center" is, in the Google photo, "Gannett Fleming":

If, through that Google street view, you "turn right" and look up the road, you'll see the true 480 Forest Ave. It is at this "executive center", I would think, and not at the suburban house, where one could rent out a room.

That's a good point.

If the dog that found the remains tore the bag open, they might not be able to tell whether the necklace was with the remains or not.

We should also keep in mind that lots and lots of people of all races like Asian jewelry these days. It could have been anything from a birthday gift to a souvenir of a visit to a Chinese restaurant.
