5 missing teens found, 30 arrested in New Orleans metro operation | kvue.com

NEW ORLEANS — Working with several law enforcement agencies in Greater New Orleans, the U.S. Marshals Service recovered 5 teenagers who were missing and endangered and arrested 30 people — including 17 sex offenders, according to a statement from the U.S. Marshals Service.

The arrested and recoveries were a result of the U.S. Marshals New Orleans Task Force's annual Operation Boo Dat.
 
Oxford students return to class for first time since shootings (detroitnews.com)

Oxford — Under the cover of darkness and single-digit cold, Oxford High School students returned to classes at the district's middle school on Tuesday... It's the first day back for students after a Nov. 30 shooting at the high school. Four students were killed, and six students and a teacher were injured.

Body found in Red Cedar River, less than two miles from where Santo was last seen (wilx.com)

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State University Police and Public Safety announced they, along with law enforcement partners, have recovered a body in the Red Cedar River around 12:30 p.m. The body was found about 1.5 miles downriver of where Brendan Santo was last seen.

MSU says the body is believed to be that of Santo, but identification is pending...

“The body of a Minnesota woman found in a western Michigan ditch has been identified 27 years later. The Ottawa County sheriff’s office says DNA and genealogical tests helped solve the mystery. The remains were Shelly Rae Kephart, also known as Shelly Rae Christian. Christian was 29 years old in 1993 when she went missing from Hennepin County, Minnesota. Rabbit hunters discovered the remains in 1994, about 12 miles northwest of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Christian was the victim of a homicide.”

Not a very long article about it, maybe someone can find something else more detailed.

Springfield community remembers Hailey Owens eight years after tragedy

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Friday marks eight years since a tragedy that shook the Springfield community and sparked changes in Missouri’s AMBER Alert system.

Eight years have passed since the kidnapping, assault and murder of Springfield girl Hailey Owens. This year, she would have turned 19 years old.

“It’s really hard for me to call today an anniversary, which normally is something to be celebrated,” said David Ransin, an attorney representing Hailey’s parents.

Investigators say Craig Wood kidnapped the 10-year-old girl in broad daylight as she walked down a Springfield street before raping and killing her.
