LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A jury of five men and seven women have reached a verdict, having decided the fate of a former politician accused of killing a Las Vegas journalist.

The 11-day high-profile murder trial focused on former Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles, who is accused of the stabbing death of Las Vegas Review-Journal investigative reporter Jeff German. German had been investigating turmoil in the Public Administrator’s office.

STOUGHTON, Mass. —
A former Stoughton police detective has been indicted on charges he killed a pregnant woman.

Sandra Birchmore's body was found on Feb. 4, 2021, in her apartment in Canton. She was three months pregnant.


Matthew Farwell, 38, of North Easton, has been indicted on charges that he strangled the 23-year-old, amid claims that he was the father of her unborn baby and staged her death to look like a suicide.

According to the federal indictment, on or about Feb. 1, 2021, Farwell killed Birchmore by strangulation.

According to an internal affairs investigation, Birchmore was 13 years old when she met Matthew Farwell through the department's Youth Explorers Program. He allegedly began an inappropriate relationship with Birchmore when she was 15 and he was 27.

The trial of accused murderer Bryan Kohberger will be moved to a different location, a judge ruled on Friday.

Kohberger, 29, is facing four counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony burglary. He allegedly fatally stabbed University of Idaho students Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin.

The trial is expected to begin on June 2, 2025.

BRANDON. Miss. (TND) — A 15-year-old girl from Mississippi will spend the rest of her life behind bars after a jury found her guilty of murdering her mother.

Carly Madison Gregg learned her fate on Friday, marking about six months after she was charged with killing 40 year-old Ashley Smylie, as well as seriously hurting her step-father, Heath Smylie, during two separate shootings at their Brandon, Miss., home in March.

Simon was convicted on 19 charges, including malice murder, felony murder, concealing the death of another, false report of a crime and making a false statement. Her sentencing will be set at a later date.
