"Mounties said two people with “al-Qaida ideology” planned to blow up the British Columbia legislature on a national holiday in a press conference Tuesday.
B.C.’s online court registry system indicates charges were sworn today against John Stewart Nuttall, born in 1974, and Amanda Marie Korody, born in 1983.
The charges include knowingly facilitating a terrorist activity, making or possessing an explosive device, and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.
The records indicate the charge connected to the explosive device relates to allegations that occurred last week in Victoria.
The conspiracy is alleged to have taken place in Surrey, B.C., in March"

"RCMP said the pair took steps to build explosives device — using pressure cookers, which were used in the Boston attack — to cause “death and injuries” during Canada Day celebrations in Victoria and they were inspired by “Al Qaeda ideology.”
“These individuals were inspired by al-Qaeda ideology. Our investigation demonstrated that this was a domestic threat, without international linkages,” RCMP Assistant Commissioner James Malizia said in a statement"
