Police Sources To CBS2: DC Murder Suspect Daron Wint In Custody

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) – The man wanted for the murder of a Washington, D.C., family and their housekeeper has been taken into custody, a police source said.

On Thursday night, Washington Metropolitan police Chief Cathy Lanier told CBS2’s Kris Van Cleave that Daron Dylon Wint had been apprehended.

Wint did not turn himself in, CBS News has learned. He was located and taken into custody by officers, CBS News has learned.

An autopsy from the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner released Tuesday shows the baby died of "non-accidental head injuries January 29. At the time, Fayetteville authorities said her parents called 911 after she was found unresponsive in the couple's Haymount apartment.

The autopsy report obtained by ABC 11 this week shows the 18-month-old child was brutally assaulted, and died of a head injury due to multiple blunt force impacts. She suffered from severe bleeding, and the report also indicates the baby's private parts were cut and bruised.
