Hazel Park man charged in Troy woman's murder ruled competent to stand trial

A Hazel Park man accused of murdering a Troy woman and hiding her body in the attic of his home was found competent to stand trial Friday.

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced the arrest of 41 people in a three day human trafficking operation.

In a press conference, Agent Margie Quin announced the arrests which included 34 men. In one instance, Quin says a man was arrested, cited and released, where he then went to his car and started to text another undercover agent asking for sex just moments after his arrest

Authorities have made an arrest in a nearly 40 year-old cold case in Florida. The woman who was killed is a Utica native.

Debbie Clark was viciously beaten and shot to death. She was working as a nurse in Coral Gables, Florida.

Investigators and her family always felt her former lover, real estate agent Allen Bregman was responsible.

State police announced Thursday that a body exhumed from a pauper’s grave in Westmoreland County last fall has been identified as a Homewood teen, nearly 49 years after she went missing.

Theala Thompson was 13 years old when she disappeared in September 1967.

Later that month, a man found the body of a girl in a Salem Township landfill. The decomposed body could not be identified at the time.
